This book is a great history of stage coaching in the West. The biggest complaint would be the usual error of the use of the term Conestoga to describe emmigrant wagons west of the Missouri. Those wagons were primarily farm wagons initially, then prairies schooners made in St Louis and other "western" locations. The Conestoga was a heavy eastern freight wagon in use from about 1750 through 1850. If it saw any use west of the Mississippi it was very sparing.

I love the old pictures in the book the most but I love also how he decribes the items such as the wagon trian how they fell apart and the oxen had alkali in there noses....Great description....
