I didn't think this was a bad book, but I also didn't think it was very good. The plot involves a small crew who run around LA at night trying to get on-scene where breaking news stories are occurring to get film footage that they can sell to the local stations and networks. This ghoulish endeavor doesn't really do much to make the characters seem sympathetic or likeable from the get-go. The female lead seemed to me like a guy's idea of a woman--not too realistic and she wasn't very likeable. Her male counterpart has lost his son to a horrible drug-related accident, but it seems to leave him almost completely unaffected. Not too believable, or too likeable. The plot was interesting and fast paced enough for a thriller, but when I don't really care about the characters, I sort of feel like it wasn't worth the time spent to read their story.Read full review
