I have a hunch that anyone who is disappointed in "stairway to heaven" would be disappointed when he goes to heaven itself. "Geez! All there is is clouds and An occasional harp." You've got to realize the picture was made toward the end of World War II with severe restrictions on everything, including the use of one of the worlds few technicolor cameras. It's a marvelous and exceptional picture. Don't miss it.

I love "I Know Where I'm Going," "A Canterbury Tale," and "Black Narcissus"--all directed by Powell. They are highly original, and, to my mind, among the most interesting films I've seen. However, I was very disappointed in "Stairway to Heaven," which I found to be formulaic, predictable, and even boring. "Age of Consent" was better, featuring an early performance by Helen Mirren and great cinematography.

THE ACTING, STORY, MUSIC, AND DIRECTION ARE TERRIFIC. STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN TAKES YOU OUT OF YOUR REALITY AND YOU BECOME A PART OF THE MOVIE. THIS IS MY FAVORITE FILM OF ALL TIME. THANK YOU. RJ
Both movies very enjoyable to watch again especially as both appear to have been re-mastered for this release and the interview about "Age of Consent" with the great Helen Mirren is worth the cost of purchase alone.
