Finally, after 22 years, the first 4 British albums from The Beatles are avaialble on CD in real, true Stereo, for the very first time ever! Their second album, "With The Beatles", is a truly remarkable selection of song titles that shows the boys really blossoming into a major talented musical force with a solid future. By the time that this album was recorded and released, it was decided by the members of the band that there were to be no songs taken from this release to be issued as singles; their decision was that the songs could collectively serve together as one packaged entity, in terms of thinking of singles on an album. The result is a breath-taking CD that still sounds as fun and fresh many years later. Once again, there are 8 original tunes combined with 6 cover songs. The Lennon-McCartney duo brings us the songs "It Won't Be Long", "All I've Got To Do", "Little Child", "Hold Me Tight", "I Wanna Be Your Man" and "Not A Second Time". George Harrison has his first original composition here with "Don't Bother Me". The cover tunes featured are "Till There Was You", "You Really Got A Hold On Me", "Roll Over Beethoven", "Please Mister Postman", "Devil In Her Heart" and "Money (That's What I Want)". However, the album's best song is a Beatles original hit, "All My Loving". While this song was not issued as a single to promote the album, it still recieved much airplay. The remastering job done at EMI is a welcome addition to any Beatles library. The songs sound crisp and sharp, especially now in stereo. "With The Beatles" is a real blast from the fab four.Read full review
With The Beatles! 1. It Won't Be Long - HARD ROCK ROOTS ON THE REFRAIN,SUPERBLY BLENDED WITH SLOWER BALLAD ON THE MAIN BODY OF THE TUNE-THIS IS A CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF WHY WE STILL LIKE THESE GUYS TODAY.MOST ALWAYS THE SONG WITHIN A SONG TECHNIQUE THAT SERVED THE BEATLES SO WELL 2. All I've Got To Do(GREAT LENNON BALLAD ,SUNG WITH CONVICTION) 3. All My Loving(POPULAR BALLAD,ESPECIALLY DURING THE WAR OF THAT ERA,EASLY APPLIES TO 2 LOVERS OVER A DISTANCE IN ANY ERA) 4. Don't Bother Me(GEORGE HARRISON'S SONG-WRITING DEBUT! CLASSIC HARRISON WRITTEN IN THOSE MINOR CHORDS HE WAS SO FOND OF AND A BREAK FROM THE "UPLIFITNG SONGS" ON THIS ALBUM) 5. Little Child(GOOD LENNON VOCAL ON THIS ROCK & ROLLER) 6. Till There Was You(GOOD PAUL VOCAL ON THIS VOCAL,THIS SHOWTUNE BALLAD IS THE TYPE OF MUSIC PAUL PROJECTED HE AND LENNON WOULD WRITE IN THEIR FUTURE..ONLY PROBLEM IS HE HAD TROUBLE GETTING JOHN TO SIT THROUGH A MUSICAL TYPE MOVIE - THIS IS BULL-- I'M LEAVING! THE EXCEPTION OF COURSE BEING ELVIS AND ROCK & ROLL ORIENTED MUSICALS. 7. Please Mister Postman(WELL DONE COVER SONG,WORKS BETTER FOR A GIRL BAND THOUGH) 8. One of my favorite 'old' Beatles' album. The songs do not sound near as dated as their first record, and the quality of the recording is first rate for old analog equipment. One thing, I cannot tell the difference between this mono cd and the stereo cd from the 1987 releases. Both sound like mono. The 2009 mono remaster is awesome if you get a chance to buy it, definitely pick it over the 87' version for pure sound kick and enhancement.
The CD was good but the other one I ordered with it was not what I ordered. I wished that instead of putting one similar in order they would've contacted me for the substitute one they sent I already had. Otherwise everything was ok.

As a Beatles fan from way back, this CD has all their early great hits. It compliments my Meet the Beatles LP.
