The instructions are simple and easy to understand if you've never knitted before. None of the patterns use abbreviations, which eliminates confusion. The projects are quite stylish, but not difficult to make. The book also includes an 'instant gratification' section, with patterns that can be completed in a day. By the time you finish this book, you will be thoroughly familiar and comfortable with the basics of knitting and ready to move on to more complicated things. This comprehensive covered spiralbound guide takes teens through the fundamentals-tools, basic stitches, yarn selection and more-before providing clear directions and diagrams for 35 projects plus tips for starting a knitting club.
I checked this out at our library and then had to buy it. Our knitting group has several first graders who just learned to knit and this book has lots of really cute projects that they can handle like tank tops, scarves, hats and bags. I like the medium size of the book and spiral binding that allows the pages to lie flat for easier reading.
This is a really excellent book for the beginning knitter--especially the beginning knitter wanting to make some projects for teen boys and girls. The pictures are great and the instructions are easy to understand. And the projects are great!!
I started a Teen Knitting Club at my library and gave each of the girls this book as a welcoming present. They all love it! The projects are just right for today's teens and the instructions are perfect. I recommend this book for anyone who is a beggining knitter or has one.
This book has some good basic knitting patterns that teen knitters will enjoy. They are easy but have style that appeal to younger knitters.
