I'm a touring bass player, and I've used a Boss pedal tuner for years. But, the TC Electronic Polytune 2 blows it out of the water!! I can actually see this thing in bright light & daylight on stage, and it's visible from across the stage even!! The other thing I absolutely love about it, is how it's ready to be used as soon as you step on the switch. There's no delay like there was with the Boss tuner! It also takes up less space on my pedal board, and it's not even the mini version that they now make. Do yourself a favor and find one at a good price online. You will love this thing!!

The tuner works as designed, solid metal construction and the display bright and readable. At first the switch worked flawlessly very smooth on/off, no clicking snap or pop at all BUT now but after only a month of use the switch is loud and started to clip snap and pop that is very noticeable at the speaker or even in the system when plugged in direct and no guitar stage monitor. This is unacceptable for a tuner pedal that is relied upon to mute the signal when tuning is needed. So sorry TC had to rate at a 3.

I’ve had a BOSS TU3, the first polytune, polytune 2 mini and now the polytune 2 regular size. I prefer larger pedal bodies because I find the small ones are too compact for my big feet. The new polytune 2 is simple, bright display and is an attractive looking tuning pedal. I prefer the new display over all other tuning pedals because it’s brighter, larger and self adjusts to lighting conditions. The ability to strum all strings and see each string tune is awesome too. It’s also the lightest in weight too. Until something better comes along, this is what I will be using with confidence.

Easy to use with nice large well lit display. Good value in used and B-stock market. Bought two of these to replace unwieldy but accurate and noiseless Korg DT-10. I position tuners out of signal chain with tuner out connection on Radial BigShot ABY and I/O pedals. With the DT-10 this allowed me to keep buffered pedals to a minimum. But with the Polytune 2, regardless of being out of the signal chain, engaging the tuner introduces the dreadful popping noise. I understand that the earlier version of this pedal was not true bypass and I wish now that I had purchased that pedal while it was still readily available. If you run your tuners in a loop, I suggest finding another tuner. Otherwise, everything else is satisfactory.

This lightweight tuner allows super tight accurate tuning. The display is big and bright and the ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the brightness of the display to light conditions of venue. It also features drop D and the strobe tuning mode allows you to set the harmonics of your guitar at home. You can`t go wrong with this little gem.
