This is a great club for mid to high handicappers (90+)...like me. I had previously purchased the 3 and 4 ones and was still using my 5 iron. But once I got this puppy, getting the ball up in the air and far was the norm rather than the exception. I have to be carefull with slicing it, which seems to occur when I am careless and is more likely to happen than with my 5 iron. But, if concentrating on grip and swing motion, this puppy can do no wrong !!
It is all good! First due to severe lumbar problems I am not the golfer I used to be. I still hit a 9.5 driver and steel shafts in my irons but have reg flex TM Driver and 3W. I found a fantastic deal for this like new TM Burner rescue on ebay and tried it out even though it was a stiff shaft.I was having too much trouble getting used to the smaller hybrids but this baby is nothing but sweet. 1st fairway shot from 185 with this #4 put the ball 10' from the flag. Dead solid straight, love it.
Senior golfer discovered the Burner drivers first, then the fairway woods (3,5,7). WOW! But, as a 67 yr. old senior, I needed a 160 yd club. Can't hit and control an iron that far anymore. The the Taylormade Burner Rescue (24*) just made sense. I feels good in your hands, balanced and just the right size head to give you confidence that you can put a good swing on the club and accomplish what you want. Nice loft, so it lands softly....and stays in the immediate area. I have no idea of its actual impact on my handicap, since consistency is not the trait of most 17 handcappers; but it certainly filled the distance gap for me...and comforably, without spending a lot of money. GREAT CLUB.
Okay, I've tried them all, except Callaway products. I simply don't like Callaway stuff for some reason. That said, I've hit just about all the rest. Adams, Nickent, TaylorMade, Cobra, even a couple others. These hybrids are perfect. The head is a bit larger than the small hybrids, and a tad smaller than fairway woods. I use these for longer irons, and my #6 hybrid for tight high shots. I can be 130 yards out behind a tree, and this club can launch so high I clear the trees. I can also use to hit 160 yards out from the fairway. Very easy to hit from the rough. Perfect, perfect, perfect hybrid!!
I have been back in golf for only six months after a thirty year break. I was stunned at the progress of club technology and decided to get back into it hybrid were a must. STUNNED is the only word to describe these clubs, easy to use comfortable feel and deadly accurate. I was struggling to find the right club for our three 190 plus metre par threes. The rescue three has me in play and often on the green putting for birds, truly a revolutionary invention, if you are unsure, throw away the 3 and 4 irons and get a rescue wood, sweet to hit and easy to keep online, great stuff Taylormade.
