Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn come together in this movie and provide an inside look at what life was like for young aspiring actors in Los Angeles during the mid 90's. Jon Favreau (Mike) has just moved to L.A. from the East coast and we quickly learn he has just gotten out of a six year relationship. Naturally he has some heartbreak and is still very awkward in the social scene of single life. Luckily, his buddy Trent (Vince Vaughn) is there to offer him advice and coach him up on his skills. Mike is so bad and awkward with the ladies that it is painful to watch as a guy. You feel so bad for the guy as he ruins girl after girl and is hung up on his old lady back east. With each passing scene you see how devastated Mike is and you realize that it isn't easy to get over heartbreak. Swingers is an L.A. classic with scenes shot around around the city. There are also some very accurate interpretations of the shallowness of people in L.A. Jon Favreau hit the nail on the head with the script. Although it was painful at times and Vince Vaughn's dialog seemed a bit over the top at times, it grows on you as the movie progresses and ends up being a very good movie.Read full review
