This is one movie off the National Film Registry for 2020. It was wacky but definitely worth saving.

Rather simple story, but a great depiction of why so much racial tension existed in the 1970s and still persists. As a film, quite amateurish with choppy hand-held camera work, long and meaningless scenery sequences, and an overstated police get-that-guy motivation. Though thin on plot and dialogue, and too heavy on sex and nudity, one is made to think deeply about race relations after getting past the technical shortcomings.
This is a movie I went to the theater to watch many years ago. I love Melvin and Mario Van Peeples as actors and directors and I am glad to finally have this movie in my film collection.

This is a flim I have been looking for everywhere. This is the reason I bought the flick. A lot of critics say this was the first blaxploitation film ever. (Some also say that In the heat of the night was also.) Just to own a great peice of film history is worth it.
