Pros: All billet, strong magnets, accurate, LED lighted vials. Cons; Light button easily activated even in storage. Will drain battery if not stored properly. As a Journeyman Electrician with 30+ yrs experience, I laughed at the thought of a lighted level; until I used one. Where the hell were these things when I was an apprentice? This level is tough, rugged and easy to use. Light it up above ceiling or in a low light area and it is the best torpedo level you can buy. Easy to read, accurate (just be sure to wipe off the magnets before you level something), and it will take more than one drop from heights. Excellent purchase in the 20 - 30 dollar range.

I bought this level to help out at work, but the magnets dont hold onto the pipe very well. My buddy has one, and thats the reason i bought one. His hold tight, while mine barely do.

I have owned 4 of these levels. The main innovation here is the lighting of the bubbles. If you have ever worked in the trades, you can imagine how useful this is. If you are in an area that is not well lit (which is normal) or if the bubble is becoming obscured by dust and grime over time (also normal) or if you're just getting up there in years, this is the product for you. The glowing bubble does an OUTSTANDING job of making the level easy to read. Every time I use it at a new job site , my buddies at work all want to check it out (a lot of them are older and they can use the help with the eyes). Also, the frame of the level is aluminum rather than some cheap PlastiCrap (that's a word of my own invention). Furthermore, this level features rare earth magnets that are extremely strong. I have even tied a string to this thing and dropped it down to pick up a stranded tool on occasion. The Savage Lightning used to be blue but Swanson changed the color. They are excellent. These levels usually last me about a year and a half to two years as I use them six days a week. I have had two expire due to corrosion experienced in a salt-air environment. I have dropped the third a few too many times from height. I am on number four now. I can't go back to a standard torpedo level.Read full review

I cannot recommend this enogh. Best torpedo on the market hands down. Made for plumbers. No more question of fall in crawlspaces or basements void of light. Pay the extra money, no regrets.
