I purchased this "300" lumen e1d defender and it really is the perfect everyday carry light. This little guy is built like a tank and the hotspot is much brighter and intense than almost all of my small every day carry lights rated at sometimes twice the lumen output. If you want a small light with alot of candela and good throw this will check those boxes. I also have the e1b maxvision which is 400 lumens but I prefer the ed1 defender for its focused beam profile. Very clean and white tint on my example. Worth every penny I spent I'm very excited i bought this light.

This is my third surefire. Won’t buy any other brand besides streamlight. This light is perfect size for your pocket. The beam is intense and will blind you. Has a good spill to it and a really nice hot spot. Strike bezel and aggressive design which I really like. Feels great in hand, solid. Perfect finish and functionality, would expect coming from surefire. Price is high but you definitely get what you pay for. I would trust me life with Surefire lights. They have never let me down and never had a problem. The 2 mode high/ low is perfect. Don’t need all those different modes like sos and 5 different settings to click through. It’s straight forward. Get one you won’t be disappointed

There were some sales and specials going on so I only paid $63 for the light. For that price you cannot go wrong. Typical Surefire quality. Very well built, nice anodizing. The 400 lumen high is a balance of throw and spill with a little more spill than throw. The 5 lumen low is good for inside or stuff up close. That said, the light really needs a middle output option. Something around 80-100 lumens. Surefire also needs to work on run times.

I’ve only had the light a few weeks but love it so far. It is great for walking the dog at night, rummaging around in the attic and walking up to and inspecting my truck in a dark parking lot. It lights up my 1/4 acre backyard very well, and I haven’t had to replace a battery yet. Paint is holding up well on the light, but I’ve already worn the coating off of the pocket clip in some places. I have not yet had the light click on in my pocket, but I can see how that may happen if you’re not careful. I highly recommend it as an every day pocket light if you have the money to spend.

Can't go wrong with any Surefire brand. Excellent pocket edc and a great defensive tool as well.
