A NOTE TO BUYER/BIDDER: This series will not be released until 9-11. Several major on-line stores offer this just shy of 40 bucks and includes S & H. I am sure many of the Ebay stores will sell new or used for less (with postage). I found the Season one on Ebay and it was new and the least expensive on the web as well as a classic series (classics are my thing). If you are watching your pennies, this is for people like me who have to monitor their luxuries/hobbies carefully. Now for the review: I never heard of this series until I bought season one and got hooked. Sure there were some bum episodes, and the father in search of the demon that killed his wife when his two songs were toddlers was in hot pursuit and didn't really show up until the last few episodes. He is an interesting figure, as he sealed his sons' fate and through this there was much sibling rivalry. It ended with a cliff hanger. Unfortunately with this season, the father isn't in it much (I won't give away the tag here). The grown sons are still in hot pursuit of this demon they almost had in "one" and along the way as with the first they run into a series of weird people and situations complete with some more well-known guest stars such as Linda Blair (The Exorcist) and Emmanuelle Vaugier. Sam and Dean encounter running (no less) female zombies, a female werewolf (one of the more touching episodes)--old myths and urban legends. And as with the first season, their are a couple of slow moving episodes, however, this is far superior to the initial season. Those who watched it know know more about the sons and most of their sibling rivalry is behind them and they have bonded and have come to rely on each other. Another great transfer and of course lots of bonus features including deleted scenes, the always fun "gag reel" and commentaries. This set also includes Sam's screen test for the series and a look into season three which is in production in Vancouver. A nice teaser and of course, a great marketing ploy. Fans won't be disappointed and will enjoy this far more now that they have been introduced to the main characters and should appreciate this X-files counterpart. It's all very well executed and acted with enough chills to even surprise the die hard horror enthusiast. Enjoy. Once you're hooked, you are hooked. What can I say. I am not one for series, and was dubious when I began watching season one but by the end, oh, well--I have become another groupie of this nicely done television filler.Read full review
Discs play well, no noticeable lip sync issues. My player upcomverts to 4K equivalent (simulated) quite well. The picture is not quite as sharp as a true 4K or Blu Ray disc, but it looks significantly better than a native dvd resolution one.

Season 2 I think is my favorite it's where I came into the story when I found the show on TNT. I've bought all 4 years and waiting for Season 5 to come out on dvd as it was almost over before I got through the 1st 4years. Sam and Dean are brothers who only connected after losing family and loves ones and go out hunting the evil responsible, like thier Dad did after thier mom was killed when they we 4 and a baby. The deep responsibility Dean feels to protect Sam and the angst between them because of thier difference and how they bond despite the differences.Sam and Dean tug at your heart strings one moment then your laughing and then it scares you. The reference to the 80's heavy metal with name and such are a bit lost on me, but I do know alot of the music even though I have alway been more Country, but did listen to MTV in the early years. If you love music from the 80's you get it here. Surprisingly it's not really scarry just sometimes. It's not like any other TV show I have seen. Sam and Dean hunt demons and ghosts and other things they come upon. The character are so well developed and you just keep getting more information on them and just feel for them that much more. The good vs evil is something that weights on our heroes as they are out to destroy evil that hurts people and battle to do what is best and save people even though they can't always do that. Two of my favorite episode all time are in Season 2 #7 the Usual Suspect( played like the movie) as Sam describes to the Police what they were doing in town and at the same time we see what really happened and # 20 What is and what never should have been. Dean is capture by a Gin(No Idea how this is spelled) but the lore is that they can grant you a wish, and we follow Dean through a life where his mother lived which has always been his greatest wish. The problem being that, that one thing doesn't make life perfect as he dad is dead and the 2 boys have never connect and all the people who have been save by them and thier father have died because they weren't hunting and there to stop it. Dean(Jenson Ackles) we see a soft side to a guy who does the job and the job is everything in his life, except for Sam (Jared Padalecki)and parent who have both died. His great love for his mother and the scene when he 1st sees her and want so much to believe it's her, but has to question her for proof that it is her and his reaction is just like the little boy who lost his mother at 4 yrs old. The family home is full of pictures of the close family and just a stark contrast to these to young men that had to grow-up so fast. Thier dad taught them the truth of the evil out there and prepared them for the war that was to come and is in full swing. The show is the 2 brothers (which is great) but the cast they have around them each episode is awesome, just don't get attached to the ladies they just don't stick around to long, sadly the die pretty quickly. The creator planned out 5 years and it looks like there will be a 6th season and I hope that is not the last. My family mother in her 70's and sister 40's and 50's all like the show and are watching it and are in different years. Do suggest you start at season one as knowledge accumulates as to the brother, family and demons. Writers and directors are all good and the creator Eric Kripke's directorial debut is #20 a favorite of mine. I think you'll enjoy it even if you like it half as much as me. There are books, companion guides & mags.Read full review

I saw a couple of episodes of Supernatural and was very impressed, because horror, supernatural, mythology and action are my type of shows. I went to circuit city one day to purchase the first season of supernatural and was told that it was $59.00 I thought this was kind of extreme, especially since Supernatural was in its third season. A friend of mine happen to be buying some nintendo games one day and happen to run across first season of Supernatural for $17.00. He bought it for me. Well I figured since I had the first season, I might as wel get the rest of them. By hooking up with ebay I can get them at a reasonable price. Right now I am working on my third season. I have been outbidded twice, but I am not giving up.
