When I used this board to assemble an entire computer, and on top of that install Windows 7 64-bit, from start to finish there was not a single problem. I think this mainboard is great, it works so well, and is mostly inexpensive. SuperMicro is a good name, and they named this as a high performance gaming workstation(perhaps in its time it was...), and the Opteron 1000 series of AMD CPUs are very efficient. An example of the right cpu is an Opteron 1210(1212,1214,1216,1218) the "Santa Anna", for about 30 bucks. Revision 2 motherboard (that's not the "2" in the model number-ask your dealer what revision it is - or look at the rows of capacitors by the cpu socket, as rev. 1 has an even double row of 6.)and above can accomodate quad cpu, "Budapest" - (Opteron 1352,1354,1356.) which is about 60 bucks. The quad cpu has virtualization technology supported, and SLAT (AKA nested page tables or especially rapid virtualization indexing (RVI))also - and selectable in BIOS, useful for Windows 8, but not the dual core cpu, which may or may not have virtualization and SLAT, i am sure about the virtualization and SLAT on the quad.Read full review
I was scared for a bit because the onboard vga didn't work even after i set the jumper but I could have been hasty and got impatient. I used my hdmi to vga adapter on hdmi port on video card and voila the lights came on and I was running. Works fine after that and using old case's jumpers was a little annoying but other than that solid solid mobo. Couldn't be happier for the time being. Didn't come with that annoying aluminum divider for the ports but other than that works like a charm. It has ridiculous options like compact flash jumpers but I don't think it was installed, I see a lot of potential with this mobo and can't wait to figure them all out.
The price on the older dual cores has gone down, and was looking for a cheap motherboard, for fun really. Use as a server in my house computer network. All my machines are Windows 7. I was shocked that the chipset isn't supported for 7, but that really only affected the VGA on the motherboard. I did have another card so this wasn't a problem. I like the 4 Ram sockets, and the multiple slots for my tv tuner, graphics card, sound card, usb, and so on. disappointed only 2 usb's on back, and only 2 internal headers. Motherboard seems to run well, with 7 Ultimate 32 bit, and 4 gb. I am running ( 2 ) 1 Tb sata's, ( 1 ) 250, and a 500 gb, and it has no problems multitasking with the different drives.. Cool features are multiple LED headers for dual lan's, power failure, and so on. I made a custom case, and all my blinking LED's are a conversation piece. I am happy with the motherboard, and would buy it again, although some people might want something a little newer, with more modern features, and creature comforts. A solid motherboard, that works well as a workhorse.Read full review

if you are looking for a nice motherboard loaded with bells and whistles.... Checkout this little baby.... great value at the posted price and even comes with the CPU. will support Windows 10 and any other software you may need. the only problem.... needs a audio card.... so you'll need to add on of those.... supports 2 Lan Connections and has add-on LED headers for all sorts of things.... last count..... 4 and counting.... so you may need to customize your chassis to support about 12 LEDs... also, the CPU it comes with is Dual Core....Awesome!
