I love superman, that's the only reason I bought it.. Lets just say if you watched a movie like Superman/Doomsday there's no comparison on the detail and fight's themselves.. Once clancy is not lex and tony burton isn't braniac it's just not the same,, The major dislike of the tim daly superman period is the fact they make him such a weak type of Superman, he's not like the baldwin doomsday superman. It's like he struggles for everything.. Even the FoS Fortress of Solitude is very laim, superman is even much better in the justice league unlimited version.. Also another thing is there's no scene selections, and no bonus feature beside to see some trailors... I would say if you're really into SUperman like myself it's good to watch because you;a fan This is like when you love a music group, and even though the music stinks you still buy it because it's new material.. it's below average, plus tim daly's superman has no "detail", meaning muscularity.. I myself always liked dana delany as lois, even jimmy and perry are different voices.. Hope this helps, you'll understand or appreciate the review of the movie more after you've seen it once, and tried twice.. It's not like say a doomsday movie where you can skip to the fight scenes, etc..Read full review
Okay, they rushed this film to capitalise on superman retunes so the main problem with this is that Lex Luthor's voice is different (due to time restrictions) which is horrible and the writing isn't up to other Bruce Timm related DC universe show and films but its actually still a pretty decent film. Its fast moving n action packed (not up to current the DC animated movie standards). The story between Clark n Louis is sweet and its a nice ending to superman TAS considering where we see their relationship at in Justice league TAS. The story it self is nothing but entertaining action but its pretty awesome action (especially the first fight scene with Sups n Brainiac). So despite its romantic attempts don't expect something to deep just enjoy the awesome ride.
Superman: Brainiac Attacks is worthy of the animated series and one of the best features. Superman is about the same with defending Metopolis and stay true to his morals in this incarnation.... Lex Luthor and Brainiac are very different from the series. Lex Luthor (voiced by Powers Booth) was more comical yet still devious and Brainiac (voiced by Lance Henriksen) resembled the android equivalent to Lex Luthor. There are a few surprises in the feature... a sense of irony among them and a nice family moment with Clark Kent and his parents. Great film. Officially part of my collection.
The Good: Tim Daley as Superman/Clark Kent and Dana Delany as Lois. and some fun action sequences with Supes and Brainiac. The Bad: The new Voice for Brainiac, not that he was "bad" as much as he had bad lines and wasn't Corey Burton, who was brilliant in the DCAU versions. The Ugly: That this is derived from the Bruce Timm's character/story designs but he wasn't involved otherwise. Also this version of Lex Luther. He is a different voice actor than the rest of the DCAU and was written as a conniving wimp. A shame really. The movie is ok just for the fun of it, the DVD is anemic otherwise, with no commentary, sub-titles or any other special features save trailers.
SUPERMAN: BRAINIAC ATACKS! This is the first original movie from "Superman":the animated series. And it was well worth the wait! This movie had high impact action scenes, dynamite storyline, and as usual terrific character designs. I was seriously impressed and enthralled. Besides Brainiacs new, deadlier robotic body, Superman must also brave the mysterious and unknown PHANTOM ZONE! For the first time in this animated saga you actually get to see the interior plains of the Phantom Zone. And Clark Kent may finally come clean to our favorite reporter; Lois Lane. This is one you can't afford to miss and you can afford to buy!!!
