Start with direct conflict with the forces of evil as the true terror of the novel builds with unbearable tension as the reader anticipates the misery that lies ahead. The suspense lies in whether Kinsey will realize what is happening in time to intercede. I feel her pain each time. This author writes the truth. Though set in the late eighties, this book could not be more current: identity theft; elder abuse; betrayal of trust; the breakdown in the institutions charged with caring for the weak and the dependent. It reveals startling but all too real trips into the world of now. We should all take note and try to make a difference in just one way. One day at a time. Do one little something for someone today, that's all it takes. Great book! Would love to have Kinsey's character, neighbors AND her apartment! Pulls you right in every time. Kudos!Read full review
Almost all of Ms. Grafton's 'alphabet' books have been addictive and "T" is for Trespass" is a two thumbs up! Kinsey Millhone goes up against a true evil in her newest book entry! Gus Vronsky is known as the neighborhood scrooge, but when he is injured, Kinsey agrees to do a little background check on his caregiver who was hired by his out of town niece. Because Solana Rojas has top-notch credentials, Kinsey gives her a thumbs up. It is only later when she meets Solana that Kinsey is taken aback by her dark, complaining personality and what she feels is a 6th sense about the caregiver. Furthermore, she finds it very strange that Gus has been so subdued lately. Doing an illegal break in and entry into Gus' home she discovers a 300 lb goon asleep in the back bedroom. This confirms Kinsey's suspicion that Solana's rave reviews as a shining star are way off! Kinsey also discovers that the woman is not really Solana Rojas, but by time she makes this discovery and puts it all together it could cost her her life. Probably the best of all her books so far!Read full review
This was a recent publication in a continuing series. I found it on ebay for much less than it was available anywhere else. Someone bought it, read it, and wanted to recoup some of the cost. I was happy to find it. Sue Grafton is a very popular author.
Sue Grafton continues to out do herself with each installment of the ALPHABET mysteries - T is for Trespass is no different. She addresses the worldwide concern about identity theft, giving readers a clear picture of how one can ease into "being" someone else. Everyone should Shread, Shread, Shread!! She also addresses the abuse many elderly live with each day from starvation to physical to verbal abuse to murder.... But she does it in a way that keep[s you rivited to the page. A very good read, especially if you are dedicated to the entire 26 installments. My favorite is S is for Silence!
Great Kinsey book!
