i simply ripped out the used pages in this science lab notebook, and began my work for class on the next empty page. just what i needed for my second year chemistry laboratory class.

I have used various lab notebooks in my college labs and this truly surpasses them all. I cannot tell you how many of my fellow students have told me that they wish they had my notebook - this is because the one sold at the bookstore is not the spiral bound, but bound like a paperback book along the top. This makes it very hard to use because all of the previous paperwork is "rolled up" over your notebook and your notebook slides around. With the spiral binding it is simple to open and as easy to write in as normal notebooks - and you can even stick a pen in the spiral so you know you won't forget it! In terms of lab notebooks there is really no other choice for me. Once you go spiral you don't go back - you could even say spiral is viral. After getting mine four of my lab-mates purchased this product as well due to its clear superiority - and two of them still had most of their old notebooks left blank!Read full review
I bought one of these for college. I've taken gen chem and intro to organic chem at UofA and the 100 pages should last you at least one year, if not more. It has headings on the top of each page that include a spot for name, experiment title, number, class section, and locker number. There is also a place for you and a witness to sign at the bottom. Pages have verticle and horizontal lines making graph and chart sketching easy. A table of contents and numbered pages let you organize it effectively. The carbon copy pages are nice and let you keep anything you write while you turn in copies. Just be sure to place the divider in the right spot or you'll waste several pages of carbon copy paper. If your not careful, the divider can slide out a bit so writing in the far left margin bleeds through several pages. The divider includes a periodic table and some other stats. It's spiral bound and if you abuse it, the binding may start to come undone. Overall, a great notebook for the price. I haven't had any major issues with it.Read full review
I really needed to get a decent laboratory manual for my Organic Chemistry class and found the prices a bit daunting at the college bookstore, so I found this excellent manual and purchased it over half.com. Turns out, I have the nicest and easiest to use lab manual of anyone in my class. The carbonless copy system is especially crisp in this edition, of the three I've used this semester. This edition also features the notebook opening left-to-right, instead of being simply bound at the top, another excellent feature.
Nice book. I was worried about buying a book that was brand new, starting on page 1 instead of buying a book that started on page 5 or 20 or something. It doesn't matter. I could have purchased a used book with some pages missing. My lab professor was not worried if your 1st lab did not start on page 1. The book is just all lined paper with carbon papers (to turn in). Each page is the same. And as long as the pages are turned in in order, I don't think professors mind. I could have saved a few bucks had I purchased a book someone had already used a few pages from and then say, dropped the class. But book is nice and simple to use.
