I am in Business School and therefore I had to purchase the book by Pearce and Robinson. Trust me I certainly did not want to buy a very heavy hardcover book at over $181.00 at the bookstore since I had already purchased the 10th Ed but my school decided to at the last minute to change the requirement and in turn increasing what students would have to pay in order to effectively take the class. The book is not easy to follow, as an aside, but a very distracting one, the layout of the book is absolutely horrid. There are numerous inserts, fact boxes, exhibits, and case studies scattershot throughout the book seemingly at random, which substantially breaks up the text. Additionally, many of the text boxes and examples involve copious texts and backgrounds in blue ink, which I am sure this raised the production costs of this already very expensive book needlessly (not providing increased value to the end user...you would think they would read their own book). I bought the book Strategic Management for my class in graduate school at Aspen University. The text is informative and full of recent real-world case study examples. My only beef with the book is it contains too much information on corporate social responsibility. I don't mean that ethics are not important, but most school likely have classesd devoted to just that. It's a little redundant. The only other complaint is that the print was too small with too little line spacing, which makes for a headache-inducing read. However, this may be just with the particular print I bought? Anyweay, overall, 4 out of 5 stars because it does make a particularly boring subject more interesting, while being written in a way that meets you at your level.
