For being on the market six years, this game still has its strong points: an interesting large-scale battlefield experience in first- or third-person with an array of weapons, upgrades, and vehicles; the most thrilling space battles in any game I've played, ones that capture the thrill of flying a number of classic and new ships with tactical battles aboard ships. The game is very rarely glitchy or buggy. It offers a pretty straightforward gameplay with few variations, but still is worth the $10 or less you're likely to spend on it.
The game itself is very good. It has good graphics, and fun gameplay, but after a while is pretty repetitive. This includes everything, the missions, combat, etc. Also, for those of you running dual-core processors, the game will shut down if you try to play. The way you fix this, is at the launcher, go to task manager, go to processes, find "LaunchBFII.exe". Then right click it and go to set affinity. Then uncheck either CPU 0 or CPU 1, not both. This should fix any problems you may have on a dual-core computer.
Much better graphics than I expected for somewhat of a dated game, the singleplayer is fun once and multiplayer is decent all depending on which aspect of the online you prefer, there is Conquest which is a fps/3rd person shooter with rifles and grenades and such and then space mode which is all fight craft and bombers in space then my favorite and what I believe separates this game from all other star wars games is the JEDI MODE! in multiplayer on the map mos eisley. Its kind sad you can only play this mode on one map but its really the main reason I like to play the game. 1- worst 10 best Graphics 7 Features 8 Gameplay 8 Star Wars 10 ;)
I played the game for ps2, loved it because I'm a star wars nut. Ps2 version broke, second disc btw. Game play is fun, 150 on 150 mini battle. Play as droids, clones, rebels and the empire. Also you get to fly into space. Coolest feature can be summed up in one word, Jedi. Gets repetitive fast though. All battles are either space or ground. This time they give mission objectives.
This is a great game. There is one small problem. When I start a battle the whole thing crashes to the desktop. There is an easy way to fix this problem. Simply disable the sound before starting a battle then enabling it after the battle begins should do the trick. It will only crash like this when it's running on a computer that barely meets the "system requirements". I decided to buy this game after buying the fist one. It is much better, the graphics, the sound, the physics, the whole nine yards as the saying goes. Basically a great game I'm glad I bought it.
