Sure Edd Byrnes was not a singer, or a musician and he did not write these songs, and this album was a canned commercial tie-in with the great tv show 77 Sunset Strip.. So what. This is early modern American pop culture at its light hearted fun best. Byrnes as young Sou. Cal. suburban middle class hepcat Kookie was a wonderful addition to this terrific TV show. This record has fun/clever lyrics, hip cool banter/singing from Kookie and chicks, and an innocent late 50's rock 'n roll party atmosphere. Not a record for serious headphone listening but it's great upbeat music for gatherings, card games and saturday morning house cleaning. Buy it.
