We all know the dangers of using/ingesting aluminum. Couple that with inherent ill health effects of using a high pressure, non paper filter, and you have a pretty unhealthy combination. But, regardless, we want our espresso. So the better alternative is stainless steel. This espresso maker fits the bill, is easy to use, and easy to clean. Initially, I under loaded the coffee filter and the espresso was a little light. Now I pack in the espresso coffee and fill in the water to just below the vent. I get perfect espresso every time. I love this thing.

This is my third stove top espresso maker. The first was aluminum, which I abandoned for health reasons. The second was also stainless steel; it had to be replaced because it sprouted a pinhole leak in the bottom--that was caused by setting the heat too high on the electric burner. For a change, I read the directions and the results have been very good. I heat 6 ounces of water in the microwave, set the burner a skosh over medium and set the timer for 10 minutes. After two weeks, it still looks brand new!

Best espresso maker I have ever had in 20 years, have probably tried between ~10 different styles, including Bialetti which is also more expensive. Excellent quality build, heavier than expected, which I really liked. The first one which actually empties and percolates its entire chamber (instead of leaving may be 20%) upon completion of the gurgling phase. Well designed.

The Coffee from this contraption has a great texture & taste. Produces enough for two if you use the small espresso cups. I would recommend the 6 cup version for more than one. 👍🏼
