For a used toy, they actually do work in the dark. The longer they're on, the better they seem to work, reaching out farther. Haven't tested to see how long a set of batteries work, but I'd say rechargeables are the way to go. Great for rodent eradication or practical jokes on the kids. Don't let the kids get them, because you'll never get them back.

It's definitely a toy but its and screens work. Has IR emitters so you can kind of see in the dark. I needed it for filming for a scene and the camera can't tell that it's not real so it worked great for my needs.

Made of cheap plastic, so I rated it not durable, however, it is very fun and entertaining for everyone, even me who is used to military night vision goggles.

This is not Military, or Law quality, but it is a good night vision tool. I have used it many times to track animals in my back yard.
