If you haven't played any of Namco's "Splatterhouse" series, this is the game to start with. In my opinion, the very best of the series has Rick Jones and the always-creepy terror mask bashing skulls (literally) of zombies, hell spawns, evolutionary misfits, and assorted monsters and ghouls of various shapes and colors. This game features EXCEPTIONAL music and sound, envelope-pushing graphics (and gore), massive, screen-filling bosses, and some great arcade-style controls. For a 2-D beat 'em up, this game is actually very entertaining from start to finish, and is challenging enough to give even the most seasoned of players a few gray hairs. In short, Splatterhouse 2 is one of my all time favorite games, not just for the Sega Genesis, but for all game platforms. Ever. Beg, borrow, or steal a copy today, and play it alone in the dark... if you dare.Read full review
Splatterhouse 2 rocks. I like how you can pick up a pipe and splatter monsters into walls. Has very good color and very creative. One of my favorite spooky games. Splatterhouse is up there with Mutant Football League. Great Game!!!!

While I still prefer the original Splatterhouse, and even Splatterhouse 3, this sequel to the original brings the gory action to a level not seen in most games and fits nicely in the series.
