I'm going to make this short & direct. The Sony MDR-X10's sound great in the beginning, with heavy bass but not too extreme. The problem is that the bass deteriorates within 6 months and the sound goes down the drain. I've owned 3 pairs and the bass deteriorated rapidly on all of them. The sweet spot lasted no more than 3 months. What's ironic is that I don't even listen to rap, only rock music. They're too big as well. I wouldn't pay more than $40 brand new. They are throwaway headphones because the great sound quality doesn't last long.

These are far the best headphones i have used to Dj with. The bass from these headphones are unmatched, which is very important when playing front house in a loud club. At less than halfway up i can hear everything i need to cue up the next song over all the loudness of the clubs system with no problem.

Large ear pads make for better sound. These headphones were a good investment :)
