I bought this TV back in 2005 I paid $3800.00 on sale at a local stereo shop. The picture is amazing, even though it isn't true 1080P. Almost all blue ray Drives will play on it in 780P format. It is Jan. 2012 now and I am searching for a new LED TV. During my search I am comparing the picture quality to my Sony SXRD and sadly I cannot find anything even in true 1080P format that rivals the clarity of my SXRD. I have looked at Sony, Samsung, Mitsu, Panosonic and a few other name brands. None of them are as crisp or clear as this SXRD. I can even sit 5 feet from the TV and still see no pixels. I compare this TV to watching the actual events threw aCrystall clear window that is how clear this TV is.Unfortunatelytly the TV is plagued with so many problems. Such as the Optical board however Sony had a class action law suit against them and they were made to fix all TV's on the consumer side. Another thing that goes wrong with this TV is the cooling fan. I have replaced two of them at my cost, it's very easy to do. Sony cannot tell me neither can the local TV repair shwhetherher it is the actual fan that is going bad or the control board that the fan is wired into. The TV is on most all day and night and the bulb will last approx 1.5 years (the bulb is rated for 60,000 hours of viewing). You can either buy just the bulb and put it in the housing your self. Or you can buy the bulb and assy. and just slide the unit in. either way very easy. Another thing to be understood about this TV is the elevation you are at. The TV is very sensitive to heat this is why the cooling fan is so important. If you are at higher elevations the TV will get very hot but it does have a setting for highelevationsons which allows the bulb to not burn as bright causing less heat. If you are handy with electronics or are not scared to work on TV's, this TV is a great buy especially used, for the price it can't be beat. Gaming on the TV is also a wexperiencence. I have the TV hooked into my PC and I play alot of high end PC games and it is as smooth and clear as any PC monitor.Read full review
If you have room for rear projection, I would take this over plasma or lcd any day. Yes, there was a "green blob" issue, but Sony was very proactive in it's repair at no charge and had a great attitude. I've had no problem since. This tv is not capable of playing 1080p via blu ray which is confirmed by the linked article. That is the only weak link with this set. The 1080i format is still better than most units I have ever seen. I paid $4500 for this set when it first came out around three years ago. Sony has discontinued rear projection manufacturing. I just purchased a XBR2 recently as to have in addition to the XBR1 as I still think they both are better than the new lcd or plasma technology. It is a sad day to see this unit no longer being made. If you don't use blu ray and have room for rear projection, this is the best set you will ever see. IMORead full review
Very nice soft case Hartmann Leather bag laptop or messenger. I got this as a gift several years ago and never had any use for it, so it's time to turn over to the next proud owner. As you can see from the pics it is in nice shape and I am rating this a 9 out of 10 due only to being a few years old. Again, please see pictures as I know very little about this bag other than what you see. It has no rips. scratches, scrapes or no noticeable discolor. Please read my feedback as I am a straight up guy. No surprises. The bag measures approx. 14" x 11" x 5", give or take. Any questions, please ask. Also this is what I would consider a soft case and has rings on each side for a strap. I am sure I have the strap but have no idea where it is so don't count on it being part of this auction. This is a very Smart Looking Bag and It's Hartmann!Read full review
I bought this TV when it first came out with the custom stand for around $4200 with warranty. The optical block we replaced for free. After about 4 years, I replaced the bulb. It was about a 5 minute job. For those that say it's (3) hours... they are getting ripped off. You literally take about a few screens from the side panel, slide the old bulb out (in casing), and slide the new one in. Entirely too simple to hire someone to pretend their are spending a lot of time with your TV. I'm now having to replace the fan(s) because they have never been replaced. I still love the picture quality of this TV, even for 2014. Sure, there are much better TVs out there, but if you want something big with great colors.... even with some flaws this TV still gives you a big bang for your buck. On the downside... it takes up a lot of room.Read full review
