This is a low end flip phone running on GSM (2G) and, as provided, locked to the AT&T network. Low resolution camera, small screen, Bluetooth, and some utility programs round out the features of this device. This is a great first phone for a person who is not needing a computer in their pocket. It texts, send Multimedia Messages and makes phone calls. The good - § Light and small the fold allows it to fit in little places but when open it rests easily on the ear and close to the mouth. It is not going to burden your purse or pocket. § The external display allows you to see what is going on with the phone when it is sitting on your desk or bedside table with having to open it. § This is a relatively inexpensive device as it is several years old (released 2007) and has been superseded by phones that have 3G, 4G and LTE bands. This means if you drop it, lose, it quits working you aren't out $600. You get back on eBay and get another one for around $30. § It is a dependable device. I have had one since they were released and have had no trouble with it. § It is easily unlocked and supports T-Mobile GSM bands so you can take it with you when or if you switch to T-Mobile. The Bad - § This device scratches quickly and easily and with normal use it looks beat to death in several months. (while perfectly functioning.) § Goofy port for charging and headphones. Not the industry standard, for sure. You will need an adapter to use your favorite headphones with this one. Also the correct charger. It is not unique to this device so it is not too hard to locate. § The small display (128 x 160) was substandard when it was released and is too small, too dim and too low resolution to be able to use as a viewfinder outside. § Small amount of available on-phone storage is an issue. Even with dinky VGA resolution photos it will soon fill up. Good basic communication to be had here. Nothing fancy but it covers the basics: Calls, SMS, Bluetooth Handsfree capability, speakerphone, camera. If your needs are basics and you want a good looking and capable device this might be your best choice for the money.Read full review
I like this phone, I owned one once before so I can review without even using the one I just got, This phone is easy to operate, has bluetooth and a camera, the camera isnt the greatest but what can you expect this is an old phone. It lacks having a memory card slot. But it has 25mb of internal memory to put things on. You can bluetooth or download your own ringtones and wallpapers, the best feature about this phone I like is the lights that flash around the outside of it when you get a message or a phone call.
i almost upgraded to a samsung galaxy note but just decided i didn't want to spend another $50 a month for a data plan to make it worthwhile. would rather use a tablet that can access wifi when on the go. i have been using this phone since 2005 or 2006, i think. i love this phone. it's very small. i love the way it lights up instead of vibrates so it's not disruptive if it's on a table & a call comes in. it's just a great basic phone if that's all you really need a phone for. the only reason i've had to repurchase it is because i dropped it in water & fried the microphone. the rest of that phone works fine. can still use it with a headset but that's kind of inconvenient to drag around all the time. i prefer to use the speaker mode. i repurchased it once before on ebay & fried the sim card reader trying to recharge it on a new solar charger using the wrong cable. the rest of that phone still functions. the only reason i've had to replace this phone at all is because i've done something really stupid. i drop it all the time & it takes the abuse without fail. it's a great sturdy, compact little phone & i'm glad i can still get it inexpensively on ebay.Read full review
In this day in age with all the full feature phones, its nice to have a basic phone thats just a phone every now and a again. The Z310 is a very basic phone, just having a 0.3mp camera, and bluetooth as bells ans whistles, no music playback, 3G, or QWERTY keyboard to speak of. Now what the Z310 does and does well, is being a phone. Call quality is very good and being quad band means reception is great. Bluetooth is really here just for a headset, but you can push items like pics and ring tones to other devices. With having such a stripped down phone the battery life is stellar, upwards of 10hr talk and 1 week stand buy you can forget the charger on vacation and still be fine. The Z310 takes all of Sony Ericsson's typical headsets, chargers, and so on. If you are looking for a basic phone to be just a phone, look no farther than the Z310...Read full review
The phone overall is a very simple phone to use. However it does lack a few qualities that most consumers need in a phone. It lacks a speakerphone, camera, and the ability to look at your entire contact table without having to search for a specific contact. If you can get away with not having these features that I personally find key to a phone, than the Sony Ericsson Z310a is the simple phone that's right up your alley.
