The BDP-S7200 as an upconverting player works fantastic, but it would've been nice to have had some instructions on how to get it to work properly with my Sony 4K TV. I had to do research online to find out why my Blu-ray's weren't showing 3820 x 2160. All I got was 1080/24 until I selected "Auto 2" in the 4K upconverting option on in Picture Settings. The menu system looks dated and is in desperate need of a redesign. Other than no instructions, the player seems to work as advertised. On the plus side, movies load super fast, Netflix streams well. I haven't tried Amazon Video yet. I read. ALOT of nasty rumors that it locks the player up and the only way to fix it is by unplugging the unit and plugging it back in after 30-45 seconds just to get the player operational again. I currently watch all my apps through my 4K tv. It would've been a nice option if this player was capable of streaming Ultra HD 4K content from Netflix, but oh well. I got a great deal on this player for $130 and so far I'm pleased with it's performance. Room for improvement thoughRead full review

I purchased this model after hours of research and have a Sony BDP s5100 I have never been disappointed with. It is probably the best of any media player I have owned. However, after making sure the 7200 had all the bells and whistles for what I desired in a product and my personal use, have been somewhat disappointed here. This item will play DVDs and Blu-rays manufactured for retail purchase. This item will play blank DVD media you have recorded on. This item will not play any version of Blu-ray media that has not been manufactured for retail purchase. No blank media created whatsoever. This is not the case for the 5100 which plays everything. This is not the case of what is prescribed in the manual for the 7200 as it pretty much describes it takes all models of Blu-ray media. It does not. Be warned. Software is updated. Everything is connected and wired properly. So now I have to Blu-ray players, one for the failed functionality of the Panasonic unit with wireless setting/hardware issues, and the other which will not play the Blu-rays I preferred it did .Read full review

Richt off the bat, this thing takes a regular DVD and makes it look almost as good as a Blu-Ray disk on my UHD 4K TV. And the audio is perfect since I use the digital coaxial connection to an external DAC and this unit will play SACD discs as well. It's a great bargain to have all those features in a reasonably priced component.

The picture quality was first rate. Only my Oppo beats it at many times the price. My main problem with it is the arrows on the remote for the cursor while on-line is not smooth. It goes from one object to another but doesn't work within a sub window. The cheaper Sony I have have no problem, only the picture is not as good. Otherwise it is a excellent player for the price.
