Great product, connected to the WiFi very quick. the only downfall is it doesn't play regular DVDs. i would have searched for another Blue Ray that plays both Blue Ray and regular DVDs. .which i was surprised because i had another Sony Blue Ray Player that played Blue Ray and Regular DVDs. shipping was very quick it arrived on time.

I love Sony, and this player is wonderful. It has so many apps and I use Netflix. Now that I am getting a 3D TV, I can play 3d movies on it and wear the glasses. So it is good for 3d or regular or blue ray movies. I have bought 4 of these, for my other TV's and one for my son. Sony is the way to go. I have Sony TV's and receiver for my surround sound and just love Sony.

the main reason for purchasing Sony blue ray player is to use as a media player providing media source for BenQ 1085 ST projector setup. I had other players including Sony BX510 and S580 with adequate A-V connections. On first inspection, the item I ordered listed as "New others" appeared seasoned and cheaply built. The connection is bare bone. There is only one USB port, and no component out put. Older models were much well built and sturdier, with two USB ports and component output for backup. My Sony S580's HDMI is not working, BX510, HDMI is not reliable with intermittent loss of image. The BX520' HDMI was not working at all. Without component output for back up, the unit is useless when HDMI is not working. Only one USB port is also quite disappointed. I returned the BX520 immediately. The problems of getting refund are another story. All three units have problem with HDMI connetion. Among all three models, I would choose either BX510 or S580 over BX520 because of more versatile connectivity and better physical contruction. One more thing worthy mentioned is that the remote control is far inferior to the older models. There is nothing to criticize of A-V quality of all digital products particularly made in Japan and Taiwan, but be aware that not all Japanese or Taiwanese companies make reliable products in their own countries.Read full review
