    I have 3 of these beauties and buying some more!!!

    I now have three of these beauties and plan on buying more so that if these ever die I have backups. Yeah its big and bulky, but its very hard to lose!!! And it draws instant comments when anyone sees it for the first time. I’ve had 5 of my friends try mine and go out and buy one for themselves. Unlike many universal remotes, this one is incredibly user friendly to use. Each component has its own dedicated touch screen. No trying to remember how you programmed changing the TV input to DVD; how you programmed the surround modes on your receiver. Press the component button and all the commands you programmed display. The technically challenged may find programming the remote initially daunting, but once you learn the 6 simple steps to copy commands from its remote to the Sony, it’s a ...

    A Practical Solution for Missing Remote Controls

    A common problem when purchasing vintage electronic equipment is the absence of Remote controls. Whether lost, misplaced, deteriorated (battery corrosion), etc., the devices they were designed to control are being auctioned without these Controls. And although these devices have local control functions, many have special setup and menu modes that cannot be accessed without their original remotes. Therefore, many buyers wind up owning devices that are limited to local control only, some even useless because a setup mode cannot be reached without the original control. True, there are many inexpensive replacemetn controls available, but again, limited to what they can do, and most, dedicated to a particular function; TV, CD, DVD, etc. Then there's the Sony RM-AV2100.     RM-AV2100 LCD: nice replacement/supplement

    Good replacement for older (pre 2005)Sony Multi-media receivers & tape decks. Operates some other brands (ie. Denon) basic units also. Screen is a little dim for regular use, and the keyed-in code settings and learning inputs are NOT battery backed up; but Sony maintains a nice library of owner's manuals online at their web site: Worth about $30 in my opinion as a spare or back-up.

    Sony RM-AV2100

    This is an excellent Remote Control, the only thing I have a problem with is the display, it is a little too light. Other than that it works all my electronics perfectly, automatically set to Sony Products.

    best invention ever

    I originally paid over $300.00 for one when these first came out 10+ years ago. Everyone I knew thought I was crazy. As time went on and people got used to only have to have one remote I was suddenly a genius. First out lasted over ten years w/ heavy use and young kids tossing it around the room. ( side was cracked) and still worked great until one part of the touch pad stopped working. I thought Oh, well 30 dollars a year isn't bad for only having to deal w/ one remote. Found one on Ebay "NEW" for less then $30. HOLY SHNIKIE! I couldn't believe it. Thought what Luck! I have since bought two others for family members! DON"T MISS THIS WONDERFUL INVENTION......WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!!
