The E95 is a really solid product that my wife and I have been using for about a month and couldn't be happier. I travel extensively and use a lot of professional gym equipment and I can honestly say this is as good quality as any so-called "gym quality" LifeFitness or Precor ellipticals. This thing is whisper quiet, although I had to wipe down the metal tracks and wheels as one of them was squeaking initially. It is great to finally get a product that seems to be built really well and has a great warranty to back it up. The dual user settings and workout options are excellent and provide a tremendous workout. The speakers are marginal but I use a stereo in my home gym anyway so that's no big deal. The heart rate monitor seems to be pretty accurate but will need to test against my other HR monitor to see if they are the same. I love that you can choose to use either the HR monitor on the handles (less accurate) or the provided chest strap monitor (more accurate). Besides the bigger flywheel, one of the selling features when moving from the E55 to E95 is having the level and resistance settings on the arms. I can't say that I've adjusted either of them from the arms (always from the front panel) so this particular feature hasn't been of much value. I never adjust them during the workout anyway so maybe those that like manual settings would use this more. Assembly wasn't too bad at all - took about 2.5 hours with the main components going together rather easily. It actually took longer to put on all the plastic covers than it did to put together the main parts. I was able to get this together myself without a team of people holding things together while I fasten everything. Based on the size, I thought it would have been more difficult. NOTE: Since this is an American company based in UT, the instructions are in clear, plain English and the manual is detailed and ONLY in English. When is the last time you've seen that? **Word of warning though -- this beast is almost 250 lbs so getting it from the garage (where it was delivered) into my basement was quite a challenge. Even when transporting it piece-meal, the main unit must have been over 150 lbs and abnormally shaped with the pedals not fixed in place. My wife and I had to slide it on cardboard across the floor and down the stairs. I wouldn't even consider trying to lift and carry unless you have about 4 people due to the odd shape and moving pedals. And the footprint is over 7 feet long so make sure you have enough room to run this monster. Overall I'm very pleased with the unit and would highly recommend it to anyone if you are looking for a high-end home unit.Read full review
You know, every once in a while you buy something that costs a lot of money and you still think you got a good deal. This was the case for me with this machine. I could go on and on about the different features etc but the bottom line is that the Sole Fitness E95 Elliptical is as advertised...period. I don't give away a rating of "Excellent" and I take it seriously because I read reviews before I buy high dollar items. In fact to be honest I considered giving a rating of "good" instead based on two things. 1) If you are a beginer this elliptical may be difficult for you as the lowest setting is equal to about 3-4 at the gym so be prepared to push yourself. It does get much easier in about 3wks of use as your get stronger. 2) There is only one person who handles your questions or problems should you have one with the machine. He was great when I emailed to say I loved it but when I asked about the calorie counter being waaaay off and if their was a way to decrease the lowest setting, I never heard back from him. I emailed twice and called once. You always get the same guy. That's not good customer service. So I didn't drop the rating for those two items because I use the heart monitor so I don't need the calorie counter and my legs got stronger so the resistance became a non-issue. Plus the ebay price with full factory warranty was $200 less than directly from Sole and $700 less than the store. Therefore i'm comfortable with the "Excellent" but it was close.Read full review
My wife and I are both retired now and needed to add a cardio workout to our wellness plan. We researched several types of exercise equipment and liked the action of the elliptical machines. We visited retail outlets and tested multiple brands and both liked the Sole E95 the best. It is very very smooth and quiet compared to others. We like the console and all the avaliable workout routines. Assembly was somewhat of a challenge. You have to pay very close attention to the pictures while following the assembly steps. Nothing in the manual tells you what the lube is for or where the electrical ties get used. I was patient and got through the assembly just fine. Friends and family that have tried the machine out have been very impressed with it.
The day finally came for the delivery of my E95 Sole Eliptical. I was excited! I was ready to get in shape. The Yellow Freight driver was a real help getting the 287 lb. box into my living room. I couldn't have done it without him! I made sure to call the company and express my gratitude and give him a great report. They didn't seem to know what to do with a phone call where someone wanted to leave a COMPLIMENT about a driver. lol. I had read all the other reviews and was expecting the worse when it came to the assembly of the eliptical. Some were talking about 4 hours of hard labor so I put the chore off for about a week psyching myself up for the arduous task. The night I put it together my wife and I were in the living room watching NCIS on TV. I had the eliptical fully assembled before the show was over! I knew I must have made a mistake since it didn't take me nearly long enough so I took it back apart and did it again just to make sure I didn't skip any steps in the well written assembly instructions. It was nice to see that they were actually written in ENGLISH and not translated from Chinese or Korean or some other equally confusing language where there are a lot of words that don't translate very well. THANK YOU!! The next morning I jumped up on the eliptical ready for my 45 minute workout. I had my iPod plugged into the speakers with the supplied cord and I selected the "hill" program from the 20 or so to choose from and off I went. After about a minute and a half I was breathing a little harder than I thought I should so I took hold of the stationary handles to check my pulse. My pulse was 90% and climbing!!! Stupid thing must not be working right. Right? I raised the incline and kept pedelling. 2 minutes later as I started to lose concousness from the exhersion I bailed off and landed on the couch spilling my potatoe chips and salted roasted peanuts (in the shell) all over the floor. Looks like I'm going to have to build up to the 45 minute routine I remember doing at the Sports Club years ago. Holy Cow! I've turned into my Father at age 47. In all seriousness the Sole E95 is the Cadillac of elipticals. Very smooth motion. Lots of programs to choose from. Adjustable incline feature, adjustable pedals. It even has a fan built in!! Most importantly it feels like a REAL piece of equipment from Sports Club and not a cheap imitation from a department store. The only negative I can come up with is the built in speakers. I hope I didn't pay a whole lot to get those things as they sound simply horrible. But I prefer to use ear buds with my iPod anyway and at least my ear buds have lots of bass and sound good. Those speakers remind me of something I had in an AM radio back in the early 70's when I was a kid. Nice thought, poor execution. But I'm not going to let the speakers keep me from giving it 5 stars. It's a great piece of equipment. You won't be disappointed! Curtis Smith Ringgold, GA. ezrider800@catt.comRead full review
This is a very solid machine. I did lots of research and tried out several different ellipticals in-store. The Sole E95 had great reviews, and though I wasn't able to physically try it out before I bought it, I am extremely happy with my E95 so far. It is easy to use and comfortable- I wish that the arm levers were a little closer to the body because I feel kind of stretched when I use it. The instructions for putting the machine together were inaccurate and hard to follow. It took us 2 1/2 hrs to put it together, so it was more difficult than I had though it would be. I use my elliptical daily and it is a very sturdy, smooth, quiet machine. The controls are easy to use, I like the fan, and since I do all of my exercising at home instead of a gym, it is quite an addition to my workout routine-something new and challenging. I partially chose this machine for durability reasons, because I do use all of my equipment on such a frequent basis. This seemed to be a more substantial machine that will hopefully stand up well. Since I have only had it almost a month I can't comment on long term durability or performance. Love my elliptical so far and use it alot since it is in my livingroom. Also, it is more of a challenge than i thought it could be, which pleases me as I am very active. Would definitely reccommend this machine to anyone looking for good solid machine that is worth the money paid.Read full review
