I have used BOTH A 99 and Imax .. Both are reasonably decent antennas for the money .. Will not in my OPINION do as well as a metal antenna but still do the job ... Good skip antenna and stays in the air great without any adverse weather cond ... I recommend either A 99 or Imax ... I have never had any issues with SWR .. Decent ears and will last for years without any major worry ... I would not hesitate to buy another one !!!

not quite suited to australian conditions. needs a coat of clear to stop fibreglass from stranding. performance on cb band excellant. top section a bit soft, not strong enough to stop birds breaking it. slide a fibreglass blank fishing rod over it and its bulletproof. excellent performance as an antenna.

Had a Proton PT99 prior and locally there isn't a huge difference. Only had a slight db increase with the locals. This thing really shines when the DX is rolling in. Hearing and talking to people I've never spoken with before all over the map. Great Buy, great price, easy setup.

Great omnidirectional antenna with good db gain, Can withStand 5000 Watts output can be mounted in a multitude of ways,I like The built-in bracket that will allow you to mount it to the side of your house, garage or even a deck post. Can withstand around 90 mph winds according to the to what I have read I have personally experienced that it with stands 60 mph plus winds With no problem. So to sum it up great receive, great transmit, great standing wave, great durability, I am using One that I bought over eight years ago and it still works fine I bought this one as a spare just in case, it’s always good to have a back up. And it withstands The outside elements very well. Price is very competitive with other antennas for what you get, it is my favorite of all the Omni directional antenna‘s.Read full review

Purchased this from a recommendation from an over the air report. Having a small lot I needed an antenna that could cover a few bands and not work radiate like a dummy load when being used. I purchased a "CB" antenna, not expecting much. I was wrong! When installing, set the matching rings where they are for 10 meters CB. Use a tuner and you will be amazed that it has a fair signal on 17 meters and a fantastic signal up through the FM portion of 29.7mhz!!!! This antenna is skinny and tall, when the wind is blowing it really bends over. With that being said it also means almost no wind load with the bending over! For the price I don't think you will find another antenna with the workable bandwidth with the performance In the iMax 2k. On air reports from across the pond have been excellent working many using the same antenna. Mine is installed just a bit over 1/2 wave length high. Do NOT install the ground plane counterpoise kit if you are a ARO! 10 meters only, install it if needed. If your looking for a NVIS antenna, this is not it. This is a low angle 10/11 meter "DX" antenna. In just over a year the price has gone up 30%. The law of supply and demand. If the antenna was trash, it would still be around $100 USD. At current prices it's fair. It's not a Station Master antenna with the bending, but for the price for a **5 band antenna it's worth it! Would I purchase another,,,,, YES! And I am going to get another. YES This thing works! **For full coverage 18-30 Mhz a tuner is required which is not included. Read full review
