I am just a beginner soap maker. From my limited experience with sodium hydroxide I see no difference from this sodium hydroxide and the name brand sodium hydroxide I have purchased from the hardware store. The soap I have made with it has not cured yet but in the process of making the soap it traced just fine.

I'm especially pleased with the container because I don't have a problem returning lye into it when I need to. It works very well with the different liquids that I use to pour into my oils for making CP and HP soaps. I've used it with full lemon juice, pumpkin puree, coconut, oat, and goat milks without a problem. Lord willing, I plant to return for more in the future.

I am sure there are lots of great uses for this chemical, but I use it mainly to clean my sink and bathtub drains when they start to get full of hair and clog up. The shipping was fast and the product works very well. This can be a dangerous chemical, so do your homework and use caution when using.

I like it well enough, though I don't know if I'll reorder. I'm not crazy about the packaging. It's harder to pour from these bottles than from the brand I usually use. Then again, I could save one of those bottles and repackage it for ease of pouring. I bought this to use in making soap.

I love this product but I never understand why It cost more to order a ten pound package than it does to order two 5 pound packages separately. So in the end I only buy 5 pounds at a time. I may switch to a different company even though I love this product.
