What can u say about Doggystyle that hasn't been said? This album captures the dark, urban, funk infested west coast sound of Deathrow in the early/mid 90's. Snoop makes his long waited debut with style, Dre provides the album with some of the best beats of his career, and the Deathrow/G-Funk fam pops up all over the album (Dr. Dre, Warren G. Nate Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, Rage, etc). While i grew up on the original verion of this album, i copped the remastered edted version since i don't like to hear constant cussing. I don't like the way Deathrow edited the album by playing the explict words backwards instead of just taking them out. They also over-edited some of it. When u are editing words like "gun"...u are taking 2 far. It also makes u wonder why they didn't replace the single tracks with the rewritten/re-recorded radio versions that were in heavy rotation back in the day. Looking for a classic, pick of Doggystyle. If there might be kiddies in the car, get the edited version...ha ha.Read full review
