Ordered these magazines as backups since I only had two that originally came with my S&W. These are a perfect fit and work flawlessly in regards to fit, dropping out easily when released, and training rounds used for manual cycling of the action did not bind in the mags. I would definitely buy again.

Not sure if the 3 magazines were modified by S&W. The mags were pinned and soldered or spot welded to reduce original 14 round capacity to only 10 rounds. Round numbers 11, 12, 13 & 14 remain stamped onto sides of mags. If you live in California where mag capacities are limited to 10 rounds, check CA Penal Code 16740 (a) to be sure the modified mags are legal. Two of the mags fit extremely snugly into the gun and require some pulling to extract. The third mag worked like the original mags that came with the gun. All three modified mags load very quickly with an UpLULA speed loader. I have not yet fired any rounds through the new magazines, so I can't speak of jams or stovepiping.

I had to purchase these magazines because my State, NJ outlawed all magazines over 10 rounds. There were a lot of aftermarket magazines that were somewhat reasonable but the factory S&W mags were pricey. So I was surprised to find authentic S&W mags at a great price. They look exactly like my 15 round mags, just slightly shorter. The pictures of the aftermarket magazines don't look like the originals and some people had issues with them in the reviews. I Haven't been to the range yet to try them out, but I'm sure they will be fine.

Although it is made with lighter materials, it is a perfect fit and works great with my SD40.
