As my title says, this is the 3rd SKIL sander 7510-01 that I own. I used my 1st one often for 5-6 years with no problems. After 100’s of hours the o’ring under the dust catcher wore out so I just replaced it with a couple layers of electrical tape. Knowing my first gave me hundreds of hours of use I decided to purchase another to use when my first became hot from sanding all day. Then my wife needed one for her projects and since I needed 2 on the same job I was doing at the time, I purchased this 3rd SKIL 5610-01 sander for her. I personally wouldn’t buy any other for home use because at under $50 apiece, you can’t go wrong. The only thing that wore out after hundreds of hours was the o’ring. Because of that, I would suggest that SKIL includes a spare o’ring with each unit.

Maybe it's because I haven't bought a belt sander for 20 years, but the auto-tracking on this model makes life so much easier. My last sander was Craftsman from ancient history where I spent almost as much time adjusting the belt as sanding. This Skil is like going from a crank-start Model T to one with an electric starter.

No cons here folks. I like the fact the filter van beb lown out with compressed air. It will also help on the exterior with some of the recessed Philips screws that collect dust in the creases. Its easy to apply to much pressure on most hand sanders but the lighted indicates work great in alerting you to this.

I choose this belt sander over a Makita due to price. I have read other reviews and this seemed to be a solid belt sander. I have finally been able to put it to use and I am very impressed so far. This sander is very powerful and does a fantastic job. The sand paper stays in centered on the rollers perfectly. For the price I paid for this sander, I would say it is a home run!

nice in so many ways. torque, build, solid motor, runs for hour straight no problem. Flat bottom plate is not flat and so does not use sandpaper evenly, leaving part of paper overworked and other parts untouched. This is lame, very lame.
