Like most cable watchers its hard to find a series that you look forward to see on Sunday nights. In this series it is of such a different subject matter it is so exciting, but you cannot miss an episode or go crazy.Unlike many of the HBO series this one covers all of life troubles, from birth to death, homosexual relationships, family relationships, with twist and turns of a plot set in all places but that of a funeral home and the family whom owns it. From dad to sons and mother, and a sister, along with each setting that involves a death or a preparation of the deceased to actions revolving the families. One of the most different series to date, that keeps you coming back for More. Micheal C Hall appears as the aire apparent to run the buisness after his fathers death. The other brother who has left the household returns home to find he has been given 50% of the buisness by his dead father during the reading of the will. From this stages a real life drama of a mother whom has been unhappy in her late marriage and seeks a new life. The other character is a teenage daughter or sister whom is a typical teenager whom feels left out and is looking for self discovery. Many different plots and inner stories appear throughout the complete collection, all centered around the owners of a family owned funeral home. Not for the weak at heart if your afraid to see the inside workings of how a funeral home operates as you will see simulated embalming, decomposed bodies, and full funeral home care. Otherwise its a wonderful show, much better than, big love, and alot of the others we see. I rate this series as a must see for mature, educated adults. Not for teenagers, and or people whom wear there emotions on there foreheads.Read full review
What can I say? Six Feet Under has been the only tv series that has ever really touched me, and made me think, feel, and cry. Extremely well directed, and casted. I love it. Simple as that. After I watch an episode, and I have something else I have to do, I have this aura that surrounds me -- the show affects me that much. It has touched my heart, and soul, and I can't live without my Six Feet Under. I can relate to so many of the situations and characters that its scares me, and has helped me deal and cope with my own real-life situations. I am not a TV junkie, and hardly ever watch TV, but when HBO first aired this show, it caught my attention, and was hooked. Some people say they wished it would have continued, but I believe that the family story was told -- and that it started great, and ended wonderfully, I wouldn't have changed anything. I am just glad I finally bought the full-series, and it definitley was a MUST BUY, and at a great price.Read full review
Great value for the best series ever made. Great acting and a dark theme that is quite funny in nature. All characters are perfect in their roles. The pilot episode is amazing and after that, you're done....you won't be able to put it down. Each of the 5 seasons are well connected.
The series is an excellent show but there are problems with the discs... Would not play 1 episode on season 4 and would not play 4 or 5 episodes on season 5...all looked good but a few episodes would no play
