PROS: Excellent collaboration & musical harmony in a unique venue NYC C. Park. CONS: Paul Simon survived a really really really weird moment. I have to say, this is a real nice concert if you are a Simon & Garfunkel fan. Harmony is the the best, but as I have found out this is just not for everyone. And yes, this is the concert where Paul Simon, (I think its close to the end of the concert), when he does his solo's, that a deranged fan leaped out onto the stage and hurls himself toward Paul as he was singing a brand new song that he had just recorded and played live for the first,(& probably last),time . See, I can't even remember the name of the damn song, it really wasn't at all that memorable or good, but it will definitely stick onto your memory when you see this concert. It's good thing the goofy slightly unbalanced fan got intercepted in mid-flight and the whole thing kinda went by in a flash. The best part was that Paul did'nt miss a beat and only flinched for a nano second and never broke stride with his guitar strumming playing or anything. Classic! It really was a memorable concert for an era that will never happen again.Read full review
Fabulous video of the reunion of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. There music transends you back into the 60's and 70's when life was more liesurely and you had time to believe in causes. The songs are beautifully written. They seep from Paul Simons mind and permeate yours. Songs about every situation in your life that still lingers in your head are brought to the forefront by this duos charismatic union. The boy next door and the man with an angels voice complement each other so well that you may become addicted for life. I have all of their original albums and was so happy to see them perform again. Where best to do this than Central Park New York. The cheers and adoration of the crowds young and old only add to the ambiance of this cherished DVD. You will not be dissappointed no matter what type music you prefer or what age you may be.Read full review
I'm not sure if there are ANY musical teams out there today who can touch the soul like Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel did 'way back then. It was a different time, the world was a different place, and we needed something to hold on to. Their words and music at times were mystical, whimsical, at times comical, but always dead-on. This live concert was broadcast sometime back in the 70's, and I remember where I was and what I was doing during the show... the mix was right, the sound as good as any recording studio could have achieved, and we were treated to one of the greatest acts in music history in the setting they were meant to be in. Highly recommended for fans of the 60's 'mind' music that was a trademark of the era. Take me back!
Finally a version I can actually watch, after 2 PAL versions. One through my fault, one included w/CD, misrepresented...looked for this for a long time, on disc; extremely satisfied now.

This is one of my favorites. Their classic 1981 Concert. I guess people that like hard rock, or rap, may not like this. But this is my kind of music. Simon has just the voice for his type of songs, and Garfunkel has the voice of an angel. Especially when he sings "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Together they make magic. That they could perform this well live in front of 500,000 people is a testament to their talent. All their top hits are sung here and they do a great job on all of them. Highly recommended. Russ
