This lens is super sharp when stopped down a bit (f2.8-f4), fast (f1.8), and great for video on my t2i. My first impression: If your going to buy this lens for stills, shoot it at f4 if your trying to find a fast prime for video this lens is 100% sharp enough for me wide open. I even light a bit of it's softness and creamy quality at f1.8 for certain portrait situations (still wise). I might have got an exceptional deal (I paid 275$ usd) so you may want to look into the canon 28mm f1.8 if you can't find a similar price (Ken Rockwell raves about this lens and it goes for around 400$ usd). Impressions over the last month: Great bokeh, love the field of view on a 1.6x crop cam (t2i,7d). Great value and solid lens, the sigmas have never let me down and I constantly find that the colors on this lens are AMAZING. Close focus is nice as well. I have nothing bad to say about my copy and would recomend this lens to any photographer/videographer using a dslr, it might not be a canon L lens but for the price, you can beat it.Read full review
Canon high quality lens at a great price!
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
Première impression: l'objectif est imposant mais de bonne finition. La mise au point est lente et bruyante. Nous sommes très loin de l'USM. Mon objectif n'a aucun problème de back ou front focus. Ouf... Il faut fermer à f4 pour que le vignetage disparaisse presque complètement. Bon objectif, mais presque aussi gros qu'un zoom.
Only as sharp as my 18-55mm IS kit lens wide open, but by f/4.0 the lens is incredibly sharp in comparison.
VERY WELL MADE LENSE. TAKES A GREAT PICTURE WITH MY CANON 60D. IT IS A LITTLE HEAVY BUT WELL WORTH IT.
