If this collection had nothing to commend it other than Jeffty Is Five and Shatterday (the first and last stories) it would still be worth the time but it is simply wonder after wonder from start to finish. I'm more than just a bit of a homer when it comes to Harlan Ellison that being said this one of his very finest books. His work throughout the '80s consistently thought-provoking and often inspiring despite mining some of the darker corners of the imagination.

One of the first Ellison anthologies I read, and I absolutely loved it. Hard-bitten, cerebral, eerie, shocking, intelligent, profound...everything Ellison. A strong recommendation for either the dedicated Ellison fan or those new to his work.
