I bought my first Shark vacuum four years ago and it served me well until it died a month ago. I replaced it with this more powerful model and I am amazed and pleased with its performance. We have a cat and a Golden Retriever, and the amount of pet hair the machine picks up from our wall to wall carpeting is incredible. Our city apartment is 1400 sq feet and due to the long electrical cord I can vacuum the whole place without having to move the plug from outlet to outlet. The swivel head is a nice feature but takes a while to get used to (about 10 minutes). This model is nearly twice the weight of my previous Shark, but still well within the range of being light to use. In my other home I have a different brand vacuum which cost over $700 and weighs a ton. Using it feels like I am pushing the Queen Mary around. In comparison this Shark feels like a rubber dingy. AND, it cleans just as well. The only issue I have found with this machine is the plug falls out of the socket with only slight pressure which is a nuisance. The problem can be resolved by spreading the prongs slightly apart making for a tighter fit in the socket. Overall this is a very efficient vacuum at a reasonable price. NOTE: Shop around because the price varies. The best price I found was for the machine I purchased on eBay.Read full review

This version of the Shark has the pet hair attachment, and a wand extension to reach to the ceiling of my house, in addition to the normal attachments. It's easy to use, and it's well-made, the various detachable parts fit together well, without forcing. It's easy to dump the canister and clean the vacuum filters. I particularly like the way you can really get under furniture, rather than moving it, and the way it steers. It seems more effective than most vacuums on hard floors, so many seem to just scatter little bits of dirt, but this Shark seems to get it all. I have no negative observations.

Used only a few weeks, but an excellent vacuum for a number of reasons. Lightweight and easy to maneuver. Not expensive, especially compared to other brands. Brush is less aggressive than others but seems to do just as good of a job on carpet. Hardwood suction is very good. Cord length is great. Only minor design changes I would make are a larger collection canister and moving the power switch to the handle from the body.

I didn't even know I was.looking for a new vacumme, and then one day I helped.a.friend clean up her place by running the vac around... I fell in love with it. its light, versitile, has a.swivle head, goes.from carpet to hard floors in an instant (and it does a really good job on the hard floor, not just blowing the fluff around, it.does.as.good.as.sweeping maybe better even....seriiously) its detachable so cleaning cobwebs or the staircase is easy....i feel like a nerd for being so excited about a "sucky" vacumme!!!! but seriously it is SOO freaking great.....i would definitely recommend it everyone whose looking......GET THIS VAC....YOULL SEE WHAT IM SO EXCITED ABOUT!!!

The Shark Navigator is very easy to push around and maneuver. It picks up so much more than my previous vacuum. We have two dogs and two cats and it is very good with picking up pet hair. Also, it is very quiet. We had to use earplugs for a previous vacuum but not at all with this one. It is very easy to empty with just two easy clicks it comes off. The filter pad gets dirty quickly so it needs to be rinsed regularly, but that isn't a problem. It shows how much dirt this vacuum picks up each time. It seems to move itself over some area rugs but is harder to push on others; I'm not sure why. It glides easily over hardwood floors. It has easy to use attachments and they are easy to remove and put back. I love this vacuum: it makes my life much easier.
