Bad news first: Okay, so building it is not easy. Because it needs to fold after, you must build it exactly as the instructions say. If you think you have found a shortcut, don't take it!! You will need to redo. There are places where it definitely helps to have two people so that one person holds an awkward position while another person uses the tools, but it is possible with one, particularly if you are pretty good with bracing with your knees and feet. Good news: the wood is gorgeous, the slats are flat, I have yet to find a splinter, and it folds up and stores neatly. We have kept ours folded and under cover, out of the weather, when not in use so I do not know how weather-resistant it truly is, but when it folds and stores so well, there is no reason to not take good care of it. And certainly the price cannot be beat.Read full review

Gave up assembly on step 3 of 8. During Step 1, holes had to be enlarged since they weren't large enough to fit the hardware. During Step 2, you are expected to screw in a metal dowel...except it is smooth and round on the nonthreaded end so there is no way to get purchase to screw it in. I tried using one of the screws to create threads in the hole, and that helped. I could now get a SINGLE thread into the hole, which is nice but insufficient to provide any kind of support (or keep it in the hole, any pressure and the piece falls out). Step 3 is to attach a crossbrace (step 4 is to attach two more crossbraces identical to Step 3). The holes in the crossbraces are too small and when trying to screw the screws into the crossbraces, the wood splits. I considered enlarging these holes also, but enlarging them to sufficient size would leave too little wood to support the structure. The set looks nice and it is the style and wood I am looking for, but the design and manufacture of this piece makes it impossible to assemble and makes the entire set worthless.
