I just got this TV in March 2015. I was looking @ the 4k TV's that were on display @ the stores and was amazed by there sharpness. For the money I grabbed up this TV. I was disappointed that the picture was not close to the clear display at the tv store. I went back to the store and noticed that all the 4k tv's were running off their own recorded image and not on a networking channel. This recorded image is NOT what you will get. There is not a significant difference from a regular H.D than a 4k to even give any hype at all. I bought the Seiki 39", I'm not stating this issue with all the other 4ks out there, just this one. The sound is very bland as well. I also am getting a phantom fade out black clouding, that has caused me not to want to keep this TV. I thought at 1st it was just a network glitch ,but then it did it a few more times. The tv screws that put the base on were very difficult not to strip upon tightening , i actually had to buy better ones for it . There is no swivel on the base to easily turn the tv to connect the cables, this is a big issue for me because I use the HDMI daily. "a side connection would have been well suited for this TV".Also, once i set the contrast , clarity,.. i lost the ability to adjust them again , the scroll would jump past them and not on them, that was pretty bazaar.Read full review
Nothing extraordinary from this TV, however, for the price it is very good. The only downside I would have to say about this particular TV is that is doesn't have a swivel stand. That would of made a bit better. But the picture quality is good, and for the price, you can't go wrong.

I bought this to serve as a PC monitor - the high resolution and large 39" screen combined to make it a real value. I previously had a 3 monitor setup, and bezels/dragging from screen to screen are now a thing of the past. Factory set brightness is almost blinding - so plenty of headroom there. Viewing angles just slightly less than my IPS panel. Color reproduction is fine once you calibrate it a little bit. Backlight bleed almost non existent on black screen. Wish they would get rid of the "Brand Name Banner" that appears for about 5 seconds full screen when you power it up, though. It will only do 4k @ 30hz and only has HDMI connectivity, but is plenty bright and crisp even at PC-use distances - don't count on playing games at full 4k, unless you have a powerful machine (4 x GTX 680's SLI gets me where I need to be) - this monitor has a massive 8 million pixels on it, and for gaming you need serious hardware to push 8 million pixels. Make sure you consistently get 30FPS and turn on VSync or forget about it. For desktop/web/programming use, just about any recent card will work, and has plenty of real estate for a code editor, email client, web browser, and various other apps on the same screen. The base is adequate, does its job, but does not provide tilt, etc. Does have 400 x 400 VESA mount, though. The display appears to power off like a monitor would when the machine sleeps. I watched some 4k material on YouTube, but NetFlix and the rest need to get behind this before I can seriously look at replacing my actual TV with a 4k. A note, upgrade the firmware upon arrival - it is on their website, you simply find your model, download the file, copy it to a blank USB stick, plug it into the monitor's USB port, and follow the manufacturer's instructions.Read full review
Although I returned my Tv it was due to lack of a clear QAM tuner . If you just want this for a monitor Id say it's pretty dam nice. See I bought this for a TV as it was sold as such it definetly can do TV but as I said it doesn't have a proper tuner , that you'll need a cable box for from your provider if you don't already have one.
I was hesitant to bid so high on an item that was deemed not working but I'm so glad i did. The issues addressed on the listing were in my opinion over exaggerated I believe to make absolutely sure everyone likes their items. I'm really happy and my grandma in law is happy with her new tv
