Excellent drive at an afordable price. It is very fast with multi-access read and write allowing it to do multiple tasks at one time! It is very reliable so long as you update the BIOS of the hard drive to the latest one through Seagate's website. This is an easy task with their intuitive software availible from their website. The only down side is the need to check the firmware (bios) of the drive to ensure that it IS the latest version. If you do not make sure, there is a high chance that the hard drive will freeze up and be unusable (a brick) and require survice from Seagate. I decided to buy this drive due to the price, speed, and reliablity. It really is a good drive once you get it all sat up and updated!
I have been using Seagate products for many years and find them very dependable and long MTBF cycles

I'm pretty sold on enterprise drives. They typically don't have quite as fast Random access times, and they tend to bench lower (using Sandra, these and WD caviar blacks both come in around 89 Mbps, where my 7200.12 is around 119 Mbps), but in real world functions I think the larger cache makes up for this, and during extended writes I find I'm getting typically 94-96 Mbps on a single drive, where the 7200.12 with 16MB cache gets 66-70 Mbps though it benched 30% higher.
I bought the Seagate ST3500320NS (500 GB, SAS/Serial ATA II/Parallel (IEEE 1284), 32 MB) Hard Drive about 3 weeks ago and I love the size and speed. I have no complaints, i hooked it right up and it was working.
