This is as Old School as you can get. With multiple location to strike a ball, provides a specific feel at impact, so why would I seek anything else? For tip shooters, the roll off the tip provides a long lasting connection with the ball for those down hillers & side drop putts or when your dealing with the Yipes. For me, the spot is inside center just outside the lettering. There is a resonating feel that melts into your hands of a feel. This is where sniper shots pays off. In my old school hands this drains putts in the old fashion way, all feel. Choosing the right ball is paramount for your putting style. I prefer the old model that never needed a sight line on top. It is such a distraction to the focus of the swing. It is interesting to see the reaction even on the practice greens. Hi tech (which, bears some validity) and that is fine, if that is what the public is buying, then more power to them. Ever since, the 2 - ball came out, the design of heads has gone to Infinity...and Beyond. The Napa reflects the simple approach to the feel of putting. Lacks technology? we are still trying to put a ball into a hole aren't we? well, in my view, lets keep it simple. JHSchwarzkopfRead full review
The Napa design putter is a durable favourite in the Cameron line up, although there is not a current retail model available. You will see Napas in several finishes; Gun Blue (also known as Black Oxide), Oil Can, and in various Tour and Limited Edition finishes. The Tour finishes are often denoted by a T with a Circle around it, known as a Circle T, and there may also be different stamps and markings not seen on retail putters. Two limited editions putters are available; The 2004 Holiday putter, with a matching headcover, issued in a run of 500 pieces, and the 2006 Napa Valley, noteable for a groove in the sole, issued in 2006 pieces, of which 206 were left handed, and it also has a special headcover. Almost any Cameron putter can be sent to Scotty Cameron HQ in CA for refurbishment and customisation, so a used Napa, so long as it has no serious dents or dings, may be a good buy at the right price.Read full review
This rare Cameron putter interested me because I've always liked blade style putters, as I grew up as a child playing with them. Today, in this world of 2ball, belly, mallet, and answer style putters it's hard to find an attractive blade putter. Cameron is the benchmark in putter quality, and I'd been looking for one of his special edition Napa Valley putters online for a period of time. They rarely come up for sale, and are quite expensive when they are offered. Although I had never seen one in person, I found one for sale on ebay and decided to take a chance. I trusted Cameron's reputation for beauty, quality, and great feel and decided to purchase the club. Yesterday the club arrived and I'm VERY pleased with it. In fact, it's more beautiful in person than even in pictures and I'm trying to decide now if I should use it as a gamer or a collectible. I feel the value will increase years to come, and I look forward very much to using it soon on the course. I recommend this putter to anyone who can find one. The entire club, including the burgandy leather grip is exquisite!Read full review
If you prefer a blade type putter and are looking for a one with exceptional feel the Scotty Cameron Napa is one worth your serious consideration. This putter feels "buttery soft" in your hands and rolls the ball extremely well. The putter is heal shafted and works best for players who do not use a straight back and through putting stroke. Since the cost is normally substantial I would suggest you test one out before buying.
My Napa is an origional Cameron Black Classic heavy headed putter. I have been in the golf game for years as an aspiring Pro and Ping Rep. in years past to retired average golfer today. The Cameron Napa has qualities like no other flat stick and is perfect when considering the touch and feel that I prefer in a putter. The origional Scotty Cameron Napa's are very expensive, will increase in value and are a great addition to anyones collection.
