Many of these rhymes have come back to me from childhood upon reading it. I didn't know I'd ever heard so many. The author groups simlar items together with relevant pictures. Importantly, she's selected funny fun rhymes and left off the nasty and tasteless ones. I'm giggling, so I hope my 6 turning 7 year old niece does too when I give it too her. I've read some to my mom and then to a "grownup" friend and all giggled away. And it wasn't out of memory of the rhymes, but because they are still funny. (For example "Not last night but the night before, a pickle and a lemon came knocking on my door. I went downstairs to let them in. They hit me on the head with a rolling pin. Or a favorite of mine from childhood. "I went to the movies tomorrow and took a front seat at the back. I fell from the floor to the ceiling and hurt the front part of my back.") I wish it included info on the hand motions that go with some of these. I'm not finding it yet on the internet, but I'm hoping to google some of them. For almost all of them I've identifyed the rythm to use when I read them, including one's I'd never known. It's be nice to have the original notes to verify, but it works as is. I've been reading it onto CD so my niece can listen (without mommy having to "read it again") I don't think she'd be able to figure out the rythmes off the page herself (the musical part). Some of these are for jump roping too. There are 28 pages of rhymes with one to three on each page. The pictures are bright colored, and fun.Read full review
