Nice table. Fairly easy to put together. Heavy as heck though. It's of course particleboard, so be careful screwing into the edges of pieces—had a piece of board pop off and had to glue it back together.

This table is not made of laminate or engineered wood. It is a paper picture of wood that is glued onto compressed sawdust and glue, called MDF. It is very heavy and not very solid - I suspect that it will fall apart within the next year, but we'll see. I have bought laminate furniture before and this is one is probably the thinnest paper wood veneer I have ever seen, so it scratches very easily. I have also had another lift up coffee table before and this one is not very sturdy compared to the others. For example, when you pull the lift-top up, it is very wobbly because the connecting rod that goes between both hinges is made of the same "MDF" material instead of metal or even real wood. However, this one was half the price so I guess you get what you paid for. I wouldn't buy another. On a positive note, the paper finish does look nice...for now...Read full review

Looks nice, lift top feature neat. not made to hold up to family use, kids or animals. Particle board with thin veneer. Cat scratched top easily, then moisture from a drink swelled pressed sawdust around scratch. I dont for see it looking nice for too long. I've put alot of this type of furniture together, it takes well over a hour, and you may need help getting up off floor!
