I bought this TV as a Christmas present to myself. My rear projection Sony LED lasted about 8 years and I paid almost twice as much for that TV as I did for this one. Obviously, technology has changed a lot since my last TV purchase. I am amazed by this TV. Putting the 3D feature to the side a minute, just as a regular HD TV this is a great purchase! The picture is life like and the colors are deep and rich. The settings are very easy to use and understand. The remote has the option of back lighting and can be turned on or off. Great feature. Having a "Tools" button on the remote allows for getting right to where you want to go to change the brightness of the show you are watching to the perfect spot for a movie, live sports or just plain old TV shows. The assembly is quite easy, did it myself in less than 10 minutes. (The stand requires 4 screws). Internet features are new to me on TV and I haven't really played with them much yet other than Netflix. I also have a TIVO Premiere XL and Netflix is much easier to use on the TV than on the Tivo. Now for the 3D. This is a really cool effect and again, there is a 3D button on the remote for easy upgrading from 2D to 3d. I was curious about switching a regular show to 3D and was impressed with the outcome. Unfortunately, 3D effects are not really included in 2d TV productions, so while there is a difference in the picture, there really isn't a point to switching it over. It is fun to play with the feature on different things though and as the technology improves and catches on, I'm sure this will be something that will start changing. The 3D Movies are great and it is like sitting in the same room with the characters you are watching. Overall, I am quite pleased with this purchase. I have read some things about white spots, but have not seen anything like that. I guess the updates have fixed that issue.Read full review
After reading countless reviews (and prices to come down) I settled on this LCD from Samsung. I shouldn't say settled because I love this TV. The picture is crystal clear and with the back lighting and other color adjustments you can adjust the picture to suit your viewing needs. It also has a pretty good set of features. There is also a good number of connections for HDMI, networking, audio and a video port to connect to a laptop or desktop computer. The sound is ok, I wouldn't say any worse or better than others so average there. I only care about sound when watching movies and for that I pipe the audio through my surround sound system so for me it's a mute point. So far the thing that irritates me a bit is that the controls for volume etc. on the front panel turn off so it's hard to see the channel and volume buttons in a darkened room. I haven't found if there's an option to keep them lit. Also, the back lighting on the remote turns off after only a few seconds of pressing a button. Pressing the key to turn on the back light on the remote has the same result. It shuts off after only a couple seconds. Minor negatives but can be a bit irritating non-the-less. The HD is amazing and delivers a clear and sharply defined picture. With the internet connection just a couple clicks can get you to your Netflix (or similar service) queue for instant downloading. You can also access your Facebook, Yahoo and/or google account which is nice. A slide-out keyboard on the remote would be nice though. I wasn't necessarily looking for a 3-D system but it's built into this model and I have to say I'm fairly impressed with it. If you're upgrading your TV and appreciate the realism of 3-D in my opinion it's worth the extra for a 3-D capable system. Especially since more and more movies are coming out in 3-D. Since this is the first LDC or flat screen for that matter I've owned I'm a bit biased but all in all, so far I'm very happy with this particular model. ~PaulRead full review
I bought the SAMSUNG UN46C700 46" a week ago and was immediately impressed with 3d quality, internet tv (youtube, facebook, yahoo, pandora... etc). It can play media files directly from USB devices but you have to buy the mpeg4 plugin online. The TV's slim size is perfect for hanging on a wall or a tv stand. the only down side I've experienced is typing on search boxes using the remote's keypad, if only the remote had a sliding capability like a cellphone and have a full keyboard on the other side that would have been great. Overall, I'd recommend the TV if you're on a budget.
Samsung makes one of the finest TV's in todays market. Very affordable for the size and clairity. Sharp colors, and images. Great sound right out of the box, and very easy to set up and connect to any cable or direct system. Beautiful set right out of the box. This is the slimest set I have ever owned. It weighs 48 pounds so is easy to wall mount without fear. The set comes complete with stand and all cable one migh need EXCEPT the cable to plug in to the wall for Cable TV. Samsung has got it right! Well Done!
Very satisfied with this TV. The picture quality is world class, and the 240 hertz option is very cool. The TV speakers could be better, and the game mode reduces picture quality for games. However, the pros vastly outweigh the cons. I recommend this TV for someone looking for a LED-3D TV at a great value.
