I brought this phone for my wife as a upgrade to her old Samsung phone. The main feature that we were looking for was the voice dialing and this phone fit the bill just right. It pair right up with her bluetooth system head unit Pioneer 7100BT and work flawlessy. The touch screen takes a bit to get use to and the sliding panels, but for younger user that are more familiar with this type of phone feature will find it easy to use. For a basic phone (non Smart/PDA) it gives you the feel of a more highend phone without the cost that comes with those types (data plans). This is a phone made for small hands/fingers, especialy when texting, so giving this to woman or younglady would not be out of line.
My Samsung SGH Sunburst A697 is very easy to use. The phone has a wide variety of features, like a Camera, Voice Recognition, and a virtual keyboard. It's a touchscreen, so when you text, you can rotate the phone so you have a QWERTY keyboard, or even draw a letter on the screen for the text. It also has a lock button, which is very convenient for me because my old phone didn't have a lock button. Since it didn't, I would bump my phone and it would go on the internet and I would get charges that I had no idea about. But with this phone, the lock button is very helpful for me. Overall, I love this phone and I haven't had any problems with it. :)
So far so good. I'm learning all the features of the phone as I go and I'm amazed that this is considered a basic SmartPhone. I've was one to say that I never wanted a touchscreen phone because I find them complicated to use and with the slightest touch you are calling wrong people and entering into programs you weren't trying to access, but with the Samsung Sunburst, I can easily move about the screen with little to no problems of miscalling or entering in programs. It is taking me time to get used to the touchscreen keyboard, though I make few to little errors. Would be nice if it had the threaded text messaging capability.
My wife loves the fact, as petty as it may sound, that you don't have to have skin-to-screen contact to utilize this touchscreen. She has long nails, so phone like the iPhone are impossible for her to use. This phone has awesome battery life even under heavy usage: she can go three days between charges. It is small and light yet solid; fits comfortably in your pocket. Highly recommend this phone unless you are on the market for a smartphone. She had me purchase 2 more for our kids, and they love them as well.
This was a birthday present for my husband. He loves it. He didn't have a touch screen previously, but now loves them. Although he does have large fingers, he doesn't have a lot of trouble with very many keys. We both keep a stylus on hand for our phones though, there are some games and other applications that have very tiny buttons so we use a stylus. He can't get over all the gadgets and conveniences this phone has. He likes a smaller phone and this one fit the bill perfect. The only hesitation I had about getting it was NO 3G. He doesn't do a lot of internet stuff on his phone so this wasn't a big problem but trying to download a game, song, video etc. does take longer and on occasion disconnects before completing download. This is the only downer so far.
