GREAT PHONE! Plans need some adjusting. I purchased this phone for my granddaughter who like other tweens, loves to text more than talk; she has the Net 10 plan: $25 a month auto-pay for 750 minutes per month, only problem is, she can only send 12.5 text messages per day, and receive 12.5 text messages per day! That is not much. So, around 750 minutes or 375 texting *out, and 375 texting *in, **per month, not counting a need to talk,is just not enough for a tween! If you can afford to buy *unlimited* at $50 per month, that is the **only way to go with Net 10, unless you are buying a Net 10 phone as a back up or as an extra "talking" and **minimal texting phone. My granddaughter is really *bummed* about 12.5 texts per day, in & out, respectively, but I can not afford to purchase unlimited for her yet. I own the LG 900g Net 10 bar phone, just as great but it is our *home phone* so I pay for unlimited, but want to keep my phone in great shape, not best for texting all day as only *one set of buttons** is on the front, not separated, like the T401G. Nice to have a separate set of buttons in case one set is overused...lol. Great phone and great idea! If you want this phone for your tween, you must be able to afford the $50 a month unlimited plan or prepare for complaints! We also bought protective covers & screens for our phones with cases to *protect our investment. Square trade has extended warrantees, I believe, which I purchased. Going wireless is great! Saves home phone bills at a flat $50 per month; only wish all family members could have separate phones with the same number like a home phone! That is the only downfall to going wireless with a family. Net 10 had us on our auto pay plans in 10 min! Minutes went right to the phone in an instant! Unbelievable!Read full review

this is a very nice phone with a lot of features. no voice dialing and the web browsing is very limited. downside with any NET10 phone bought on ebay is with NET10 customer service. very few problems with bad serial numbers because with prepaid service there are no blacklisted ESNs. the problem is with NET10, their GSM phones aren't easily swapped by transferring the sim to another phone. they almost always have to send you a new sim card by FEDEX. as soon as a sim is put into a NET10 phone it is married to that phone only. minute information is stored in the phones software so you must contact customer service to upgrade or transfer any unused time to another phone. sometimes it goes smoothly and other times it's a nightmare. contacts must be re-entered on new phones, they can't be transferred using the sim so upgrading is a pain. i'm generally happy with NET10 as a provider and their GSM phones use AT&T towers in my area so they are very reliable and the coverage is good. anyone used to being able to easily swap the sim in their AT&T phone to another unlocked GSM phone will not be able to do this with NET10. good idea to check NET10 website to see current pricing on phones because they include 300 minutes with activation and they offer great deals on refurbished phones, some with a bonus 300 minute time card in addition to the standard 300 for a total of 600 minutes for less than $30.00 including budget shipping. any used NET10 phone purchased on ebay will not have the 300 minutes included so what sounds like a good price might not be, considering the great deals at NET10.com. one other item worth mentioning about the Samsung t401g for NET10, this model was also sold at Target for activation under the NET10unlimited plan, at $50 a month and can't be activated with the regular 10 cent per minute, pay as you go plan. if the phone is non working or untested there is a possibility it is one of these special net10unlimited phones, so ask before you buy.Read full review
I like the fact that this phone is compact, sleek and has an easy-to-use keyboard. The Menu is easy to find and use, and I like the alarm and timer functions a lot. I travel quite a bit, and the alarm function is what I use instead of the hotel room alarm clock. The camera and video functions are excellent with a lot of options. The speaker phone works extremely well, also. I'm slightly color-blind in the red-green range, so the "shift" functions on the slide-out keyboard are difficult but not impossible for me to see. A BIG warning for buyers -- Straight Talk service on phones with a SIM card -- as this one has -- can take a few days to port over properly. In my case, the phone came with a SIM card connected to the T-Mobile network, but that network doesn't have a strong signal in my area which caused a porting problem that took StraightTalk a week to solve, even after I sent a letter to their senior management. This has nothing to do with the phone itself, but with the connection to the StraightTalk service -- I had this problem even though I was already a StraightTalk customer. I'm not sure if there's a way to avoid that, because you'll only know what SIM card is in the phone when you receive it, but be prepared to call StraightTalk and confirm that the SIM card included with the phone will work on a tower in your service area. Once that issue was resolved, the phone is superb.Read full review
This ia a quality phone. Great looks and easy to use. First thing I did was download a bunch of music. I was a little disappointed that the ringtone option limts you by file size. Also it could use a more quality sound distibution speaker. This phone is great for texting. I do not think the reception of this phone is that grat, but then again I live in an area that is not cell phone friendly. This phone was designed to be user friendly. Overall it is a very good phone for the money
