We bought this to take to South Africa. We need an unlocked cheap cell phone. It has basically served its purpose, but we can't get the email function to connect to our gmail accounts. Very few apps that were loaded actually work. But we can call and text, which was the main purpose. Some basic functions like accessing your recent call history are quite tedious, have to go thru many menus. Call quality is mediocre. Haven't tried taking pictures.
Great looking phone for someone on a budget. Draw back for me was due to its age and being AT&T many of the features are useless since the service no longer provides them. Could not find a calculater on it and could not find how to change the text tones. Dialing and texting was easy but you still have to use the # pad to text instead of it just showing one button per letter. No longer use it after a week, bought a used samsung galaxy S for roughly $60. I would price this phone around $30 to $35 not $55 like I paid. Good phone but I would only buy it for the touch screen and looks if I was broke, not for its features.
Before I type anything else, let me be clear: I BOUGHT THIS PHONE USED. My review will reflect my experience with a used phone, which I purchased for $70. This is easily one of the best phones I've owned. the keyboard lag is a bit of a pain in the neck at times, but that isn't what is the problem here, really. The only issue I've had with this phone is the random shutdown that happens. There is no warning, and the phone simply goes black in the middle of an operation. It starts up, no problem, but I've missed a call or two already from it. It's not an issue if you're constantly monitoring your phone, and the battery life lasts for a couple days even with all the random starting up it has to do. Overall, good phone, but be careful if you buy a used model. I wish I stuck out the extra cash for a new one; if I did, the phone would be perfect for me.Read full review
There is a reason why this phone was a "freebie." No one in their right mind should pay money for it. This phone has been a pain from day one, and now 11 months into the contract it is nearly useless. It manages to unlock itself and makes calls all on its own if stored in a backpack or pocket. If you are actively talking on the phone, be careful... the touchscreen is super sensitive and your cheek can cause all kinds of interesting things to happen. There is NO calibration for the touchscreen. Yeah, that makes for some challenges when texting. Basically, as with most free phones, you get what you pay for. Buyer beware of this product.
I'm giving it 5 stars because of the vendor and the price for a new phone was reasonable. They both deserve 5 stars. However, I not happy with this phone. Samsung makes good phones. I may have a lemon because this phone goes to sleep mode and I can't access my contacts list. It says initializing.I have to turn it off or dialing a number to get this retarded phone to wake up. Sometimes that doesn't work either.
