I'm writing this review in 2016. This phone is by no means a "state of the art" telecommunications device. It is, however, a solid basic phone. You can set an alarm (or several), check the date and time, and use a basic calculator as well as "talk to other people" on it. Amazing. It's a phone. It looks like it has other functions which I've never felt the need to explore. A couple of caveats are that if you're a big (or even casual) texter or want to take pictures with it there are probably better phones for you out there. Ok, any other phone with a full keyboard - screen or actual and/or one with a decent camera will be better. This is probably not the best phone to update your blog or write a dissertation with unless your blog/dissertation consists of "arty" photos with captions on the order of "cool" - notice that the caption doesn't contain a capital letter, leet numbers or punctuation. I am extraordinarily hard on phones (laptops too, for that matter) and this model does the job. I think I'm on my 3rd or 4th one. They don't like being under water for lengthy periods or having large heavy objects dropped on them. They do tend to take dropping from, say - table height, onto hard surfaces pretty well. After several such instances, normally the battery will pop out. Pick it up, put it back together, turn it on, wait while it reboots, and... good to go. This last one I eventually managed to crack the outer screen. It still worked fine for a year and then I somehow really squashed it and cracked the inner screen. Still worked but annoying. I bought a (new?) one off eBay, swapped the boards in about 7 minutes and now it's like new. A basic flip works for me as a carry around while the Galaxy stays in the car or on the desk. I purchased this product because my current phone was acting like it was getting ready to die. I was looking for something that was basic and would get the job done. The Samsung SCH absolutely fits that description. While yes it may not have all the bells and whistles of a lot of today's newer phones it get the job done and is very easy to use, which was exactly what I was looking for and have come to expect from Samsung products.
This is a very good phone for the use to which I use it. Battery life is short. No bells and whistles but I do not want to text on it . I can call out and my family can call in. No other i nteruptions. Having carried a medical beeper for 45 years, this is my perfect answer.

I love my little Samsung it is easy to use and has been very dependable...And I like the fact that you don't have to pay Verizon a $30.00 monthly data charge...It is perfect for a person that only wants a basic phone...I have to charge it every night but that is typical for an older phone...No big deal
Great phone if you just want the basics. It's very easy to use and the features are very simple. You can take pictures too which is a nice bonus.
